hello

I have one of Kippers V2's on my A600, still running the original firmware, 2.7 i think. Is the capacitor change mandatory for the GOLD3 upgrade? or is there/will there be a slower version of GOLD3 for those who dont want to solder anything to their vampires, like on previous releases, there was a X10 release, and a X11 release, that advised on the soldering upgrade, ie. X10 didn't push the card so much.

thanks

Not in team but ... likely to be, since it is possible.

However, its still beta testing, so dont expect it tomorrow.

Sorry, i don't quite understand, does this mean, "yes, you will need to do the mod, to run GOLD3" ??

Slower cores can be produced but are never a priority.
  So it might be possible. However to use higher clocked cores or use advanced ones to max, its always advised to do recap. If you dont feel up to the task, one a pro.

e.g. There is a nice fat feeling dif. between x10 and x12 use,even its "just" A1200 style 14Mhz. But 080 14Mhz.

@Knight Stone
My v600 is power-fixed but core 3 alpha struggles to start.. I think the core is unstable. Is there a v600 owner that is able to use it without power-on/off his 600 100 times? I doubt. Please fix it!!

It's an alpha release so it is not guaranteed to work. If you can't accept that then stick with an older working core. It is fine to report that it doesn't work but the team is in no way required to cater to your demands of fixing it (so stop the exclamation marks!).

As Martin said; if you venture into testing anything with Alpha or Beta as part of the name, you are taking risks.

And its been said repeatedly, if you have a Kippercard (like myself), you should have a USB Blaster, and test at your own risk.

Personally I stick with the final releases, and then the lowest speed versions, like x10.
It might or might not tolerate higher speeds, but since Ive been too lazy to get a USB Blaster for some reason, I stick with the safest versions.

Is there a single v600 user that is able to use that core? I doubt. Give me an evidence. If the goal is to test the core v600 users are out. I'm a big fan of the team, I'd like to help in debugging

Vojin: No one is able to run that core. It's factual. You tried yourself? I doubt. If I'm the only one complaining can someone post me an evidence of that core working flawlessy on a v600?. Maybe on a v600 v2.1?? If that core make your amiga unable to boot there's no point to publish it. Tell: this is for v500 only. Amen

I have managed to run it on my amiga 600 vampire and it did boot most times.. one or two fails but meh - i swithced back to 2.10 as it dosnt have RTG so its not for me.... but yes it does work so your wrong saying nobody has it working.

Ok. That's fine for me. If you look at the thread "GOLD3 Alpha Is Now Live !", seemed that everyone had my problem. If your v600 boots "most of the times" is surely better than "1 time on 100" like mine and some other on that thread. I reverted to 2.10 too.
