Clarification: Only Core 3.0 makes it possible, so us mere mortals will still have to wait a bit to be able to do this. :-)

Can this be done on an A500 once Core 3.0 is released?
It's not clear to me if I can easily connect a CDrom drive to my Vamped A500? Or is some sort if ISO-loader available?

If you use Coffin, you can mount a iso-file as CD.

Most of CD32 games actually did not need CD32 >:-)

Yes, all v2 Vamps and coming v4 Vamps "will be able to do it".

So nice for once we dont need UAE (take that OS4/MOS) :-)

Some CD32 games use CD Audio so you will be missing background music with those, however the majority of games are more or less identical to the A1200 versions, just with a few modifications here and there.

I am afraid no one ever did proper thing. There was some emulator with Squirell CD ROM kit as well as in CD32 development kit.

Amiga 1200/4000 with CD ROM had "different line" of games labeled "AmigaOS CD-ROM titles"

There is a full Windows 95 CD32 emulator  "AIKIKO" with proper functions incl. using mp3 music, but it wasnt updated since 2002 either.

How was NVRAM actually handled in the CD32?  I know once I added the SX-1 to my CD32, I was able to put a path in a file to remap NVRAM to an HDD folder...

Hi Louis
the CD32-Emulator emulates the battery backed up RAM for
storing Highscores and the setting of the preferred user language.
This is set on a folder of you choice.

Well, in a real CD32, the AKIKO chip contains 1k of EEPROM RAM.
The CD32 is quite an amazing evolution over a A1200 as the AKIKO controls most of the I/O on the CD32 but people seem to focus on the C2P routine...  The AKIKO chip is something like 3x larger than the 68EC020 chip on the motherboard...

I was just curious how that 1k ram was actually accessed internally.

Re-implemented today, the SuperAKIKO could contain 1GB of 'flash' RAM... :)

Is there anyway of making the CD32 run without emulation?

Could be a mixed blessing, getting one without battery corrosion that was properly treated is difficult.
