Classic WB 3.9 - Won't Boot On Vampire Amiga

Hi!

  Gold 2.9, Vampire 600 V2.

I have just made an install of Classic WB 3.9 on a CF card. It works in WinUAE.

On my real A600 it won't boot, I only get black screen, no signs of life besides FDD clicking.

Any ideas on what I am missing?

  Thanks!

EDIT: Clean OS 3.9 works fine.
EDIT 2: I managed to get into boot menu (right mouse button). When SAFE START, I get the message "Volume Disk Ram is full". When MINIMUM START - nothing happens, just plain screen with "Workbench" bar.

You can do a lot wrong when configuring AMIGA OS.

There is this Coffin OS - which is correctly setup  and ready to use.
Have you tried it?

If you want to try, here is a video tutorial for the Gold 2 core: EXTERNAL LINK

  At least SAGA drivers?

Latest SAGA Driver : Version 1.3
  (Updated on: 07.04.18)
  1) Flash your Vampire with latest GOLD2.9 core (mandatory).
  2) Get and install Picasso96 package from  EXTERNAL LINK Select uaegfx during installation.
  3) Install this driver  EXTERNAL LINK

Also ClassicWB 3.9 requires Boing Bags

"OS 3.9 HDF install with official BoingBags 1 and 2"

Note also that there is P96 version of ClassicWB 3.9

Thanks, I have BoingBags.

Are SAGA drivers necessary if I want to use SCART only? Clean OS 3.9 does work on SCART without SAGA drivers.

They should not be. But since SAGA drivers are only piece of software that adds Vamp related resources, I would prefer trying out SAGA and DIGITAL-VIDEO modes before blaming the Vampire.

SCART out should work without any add ons.

That's what I thought. I tried to boot it with the drivers, it does not change the situation, still no success.

SetPatch NOROMUPDATE QUIET

Did you try it? Edit the Startup-Sequence and change the Setpach as above.

It worked! Great! Thanks a million.

I removed all the "OS 3.9 Checks" (about 10 initial lines) and replaced it with what you had suggested. The boot is blazing fast too!

Thanks, now I will remember.
Clean OS 3.9 works without this change however. Maybe it is already in the startup-sequence, haven't checked.
