Why did so many people wait to the last moments to support it? Does that happen with a lot of campaigns?

I can think of two reasons:

  1. Some people, despite really wanting just 1 case, prefer to pledge for 2 cases than to get money back and receive no case at all. With A1200 cases campaign, I was prepared to do the same...

  2. There were some group pledges here and there - 90% of people pledging via these groups sent the money earlier to the person organizing it, who sent the money to Indiegogo the last days.

Also, some people won't pledge unless it's certain that it'll go through and hold tight on their money, which they might need for something else, until last minute when it's more certain.

Or the organizers pledge a few grand of their own money just to prevent it from failing.

Well I can only speak for my self!!!.

I have supported the campaigns that A1200.net has had, I did support this also.

But the reason I did wait until the last day was the fact that when they used kickstarter and they did use paypal then your account was deducted only when the campaign had reach its goal. Something that Indigogo does not do. But when I did see the flood of contributions and knew they was at 99% then I also did support this.

And a new A500 case is something that I need.

So now I just hope we get the vampire V4 to put inside this. Since V1200 did not materlize on the last campaign (A1200 case).

What happens if the fund raiser doesn’t reach it’s goal in some instances?
Is everyone’s money returned?

Likely to avoid legal issues, but not necessarily.

This campaign  was over the goal so this question is nothing to talk about when the goal was reached.

Tango, I was posing a general question about Indigogo not this specific venture.

Thanks Vojin, I got this from your link:
We've seen campaigners offer a variety of solutions, including a full or partial refund, alternative perks, or discounts on a similar product.

To be clear, for other ventures without exemplary reputations there is no way I would commit my money this way.

Phil from Ameno has an excellent track record so this wouldn't apply .

End of the month / payday.
Late Exposure.
Hype.
People buying multiple cases.
Maybe a little inside funding.

Now the indiegogo is in status "on demand"
So it's possible to pledge and reach the tank mouse stretch goal. Then there is the edu arana keyboard-usb adapter Phil talked about in a live-stream. So..this crowdfunding is becoming even more tasty..

I'm not sure if including an Amiga to USB keyboard adaptor with every case is a good idea. It would only be useful for V4 standalone owners (not even available yet), Raspberry PI or some other modders putting strange boards in the case. It would take up a lot of funds that would be better invested in future projects like the actual Amiga keyboard (with external housing) they are planning or to reduce the goal for the next keycaps campaign which would probably benefit most of the backers of this campaign.

I have a lovely light blue A1200 but with this campaign I want to build an A500 from scratch, so after the case & the tank I'll need the keycaps; mechanical keyboard and finally the V4 standalone.

Ideally I want to replace my PC keyboard for an Amiga.  Then I can switch from PC to Amiga whenever....Thats my wish.

I also want to Build an A500 (and an A1200) from scratch...
I have the new A1200 case (and the A1200 Bifrost LEDS), and am waiting for .... :
- the new Keycaps
- the new A500 cases
- the new Tank Mouse
- the new A500 Bifrost LEDS
- and ... the new Vampire V4...

But I would like to be able to switch and use both, the amiga keyboard and also the Tank mouse, for PC (That’s because “my Wife’s Acceptance Factor” is very low for the “things” I have).
So I would be very interested in a switchable Amiga Keyboard and Mouse to USB (and Bluetooth) adapter.

Hi Guys,

The team and I would like to thank you all for your incredible support!
You definitively helping us to renew the Amiga Classics parts, and that is no small achievement.

For all further updates on the Amiga 500 campaign, please follow the "Update" link-menu on the campaign page, and you can also register to our newsletter; since all updates are published on there as well.

Please remember that it is always better to ask your questions directly by sending an email using the contact form on w w w . a1200 . net as I don't check all forums daily.

And we've just published our first Campaign Update since we reached the goal

Many thanks again to all of you for your tremendous support!

  Cheers!

Wife Acceptance Factor.

Very closely related of course to its relative - the GAF.

The indiegogo campaign just over-reached 189000 $. So who pledged for a case will receive even a tank mouse shell (coloured in tone whith the case).
Pledges are still open..maybe a new stretch goal will be added

I'm super exited to also be getting a tank mouse shell!  I hope the optical mouse inserts will still be available when I get my mouse shell.
