| Starting a new thread - My question in the 2.9 thread - Is there a plan to start testing the v500 2+ with Zorro II cards and developing an compatibility list? The wiki comparability list right now is mostly v600 related. Ethernet, SCSI, Serial/Parallel, Budda, etc. Ethernet - I have 2 (x-surf, x-surf-100) and both work using Roadshow, so this might be a non-issue, but they should be added to the Wiki. SCSI - I have 4 or 5 different cards and none allow me to access the CD-ROM drive. If I jumper the autoboot the system wont boot. If I disable autoboot, it is as if the card is not installed (probably because the *.device isn't loaded). Maybe I'm not knowledgeable enough, but if you need a tester, I'm here. I don't care about the memory on those cards but some might, but the ability to use our old SCSI gear would be nice (CD-ROM, Scanner, multi-card reader, external HD, Jazz drive, etc.). I don't think most of us would use these every day, so it can be a low priority, but being able to access the old files would be great. Thanks!

| Markus Klotzberg replied in the 2.9 thread "Problem with Zorro cards, especially scsi cards seems to be a problem with DMA capable cards. So a GVP and A2091 scsi won´t work but a Oktagon 2008 works fine. Sorry for Offtopic"

| Markus, Thank you for that reply, but I have a number of SCSI cards that according to the net are not DMA devices. SupraDrive 2000 WordSync - uses polled I/O, not DMA transfer - EXTERNAL LINK Evolution 2000 (Rev 1.0)- uses polled I/O, not DMA transfer- EXTERNAL LINK Trumpcard Professional (Rev 1.3) - uses polled I/O, not DMA transfer - EXTERNAL LINK DataFlyer Plus(Rev 2.3, SCSI only no IDE)- no mention of DMA or polled I/O - EXTERNAL LINK GVP A2000-HC+8 Series II - uses DMA - EXTERNAL LINK So I have 3 cards that do not use DMA and I am having issues getting either of them to work with the v500v2+ and Coffin R49. I'm sure I am doing some thing stupid as I did not start on the Amiga so I'm still getting caught up. Therefore, if you could share how you got the the Oktagon 2008 to work that would be appreciated. Then we will all be better off. :) Thanks,

| I can tell you the X-Surf-100 Ethernet card and the add-on RapidRoad USB Controller works well with the Vampire and it's current core. I don't have any other Zorro II cards to play with.

| Simo, This is great. Do you have the jumper settings you used for the Oktagon 2008? Was the autoboot ROM enabled? Any help with how you got it working would be great. Thanks,

| Nothing special was needed, autoboot ROM works too. Note that oktagon.device has a 1GB limit. EXTERNAL LINK

| I didn´t do anything Special to the Oktagon 2008. Mine has the latest Oktaoussy Rom and it works fine. But i only habe attached an Pioneer Slot in DVD drive. Sometimes i use an external Fuji 9gb HDD an this works too. With the A2091 and GVP A2000-HC+8 Series II the Amiga wouldn´t start at all. I use the Vampire in an A2000 Rev 6.4. I also use a Tandem Controller for external CF Card. This works too but 2 Sandisk CF (32GB / 64GB) won´t work.I also tried a Merlin GFX Card while my SAGA was BW and it worked too.

| Hi Guys has anyone tried a an amiga 2088XT or any other bridge board PC with the vampire? i get the error it can't load a library file. I was curious if this is a RAM error ...i.e the vampire is in the Zorro 2 memory space ?

Peter, What did you do to get your 2091 working? Others have reported that the A2000 will not even boot when this is in a slot with a Vampire 500 installed. Thanks,

| Did you boot from a harddrive attached to the A2091? Have you tried using a CDROM Drive with it yet? I get lockups as soon as I try and access something connected to a A2091, which has all the upgrades...?

| My SCSI2SD v6 Ref f arrived in Friday's mail. So was I able to do some initial testing. I disconnected my SCSI DVD and attached the SCSI2SD card and I was able to boot to the Vampire 500 IDE CF card with the SupraDrive 2000 (ROM 4 and 6) and the A2091. I was having trouble with the DMS images to get drivers, but figured out the HxC software would do it. So I downloaded all the drives and got them ready for my SD card. Next step is to try to access the SD card. I know the SCSI2SD is working as the light flicker on boot, so that is progress. The sad news is I think that means my SCSI DVD is dead. I should be able to test some more this week.

| If you have Apollo OS and or VoodooX , you can extract DMS files to RAM or floppy
