I had just about given up with the Vampire 600 V2 card, had loads of problems its a kipper2 one, done all the stuff to get it working including last week GOLD 2.7 and 2 extra 22uf 0805 on c3/c6, this did help a little but after 5 or 6 minutes the screen would flicker and that would be it frozen again, Till today installed GOLD 2.8 i just could not believe the difference every, demo, video, program that i have been wanting to try in the past has worked and the Amiga 600 never faulted once, switched off had tea put it back on, it is now been on 4 hours and i am off to bed, back on it tomorrow cant wait,  Thank you for GOLD 2.8 guys I am now a happy person hope it has worked the same for other members.

I am running x11 2.8 on my unmodded V600 and it's solid as a rock.

I had similar issues, cha he's the socket on my card and it's been fine since. Can even lift the whole Amiga up by the vampire alone without any screws or anything holding it down. Much better quality socket used.

I still get the odd hang/freeze due to heat. For example if I leave ADoom running then it lasts about 2 hours before it freezes. If I remove the top of the case to allow the heat to escape then I have had it running for over 8 hours without issue. To resolve this I have designed and 3d printed a fan vent to draw in cool air and blow it over and under the vampire
