Hey guys,

I have a vampire 500 (proud and happy :D) but i need a clock port for A500 so I can install a USB blaster to be able to use external hard drive to transfer data between PC and Amiga.

Can someone help me in this regard?

1) I have Vampire V500 not V500+
2) I already have internet connection to my Amiga 500 through SDNET port with a very long Ethernet cable. Problem though is I moved my Amiga away from the modem and thus I can no longer hook it to the network.
3) I tried having my laptop be a bridge to provide internet to my Amiga but my laptop keeps disconnecting and I have disable/enable wifi before it disconnects again and goes down after 1 minute of network.
4) I thought of A570 but that is an outdated technology with slow RAM and very expensive and take lots of space which I don't have.

Thus why I am looking for clockport for Amiga 500.

There are clockport adapters available for the A500. Matze (a1k.org) has created one, for example. DIY kits were offered via a1k.org.

Also, you might consider a WIFI bridge. Most repeaters (e.g. Logilink WL0242) do have a client mode where you can connect a computer on it's Ethernet port and make it hook up via WiFi to the Net. These repeaters are quite cheap.

Hmm, Matze is like the smirfs you spend 30 years and more trying to find their village and you can never find them yet you know they exist. That is Matze. However, I love your WiFi repeater a lot.

Would this be a good one? Just asking your opinion on this matter.

It should have the feature you're looking for. Can't say whether it's solid and long lasting, though.

Too many problems, too many warnings, too many complications and still an unstable product. Nooo thanks! Wifi repeater it is!

Interesting that this should crop up recently. I was getting fed up with not being able to get a solution for a clockport on the A500 myself so I've been designing my own. I have laid everything out, routed all the signals and have now received my prototype boards. Just waiting on some parts from Mouser to build and test the first one :)

Bare board awaiting a small selection of PTH components. I hate soldering SMD stuff by hand so I opted for PTH :)

If your prototype actually works, stable, functional and V500 compatible I am your first customer. I will pay for the filled board, labor and shipping and handling and what profit (in reasonable amount) you want for this time! I am in!! May I request one thing though? Can you put a power LED on the board to show it is functional? Just a thought :D

Can I have two clock ports with faster speed if possible than the original clock port?

Any chance of a RTC clockport zorro II card for use in a big box amiga? .. why I ask is a number of big box amigas due to VARTA batteries have had their RTC clocks permanently damaged, an "alternate" RTC clock on a Zorro card would go a long way to fixing this problem..

Personally I have an A3000 in this situation..  I have even had the motherboard attempted to be repaired without much luck..
