  But does it not still require using Gayle for the ATA IDE interface?, I'd think there still would be some limitations seeing how it's going through old silicon. Not saying it's not faster than stock, but not as fast as it being done on a modern FPGA.

V500 FastIDE is about twice fast as A600 FastIDE.

Sure, there are limits, it canít do 500 MB/s, but probably higher than stock. CPU matters, as far as Iíve understood. Not sure if itís the Gayle chip on the A600, donít know much about that motherboard

About ~ 3.5MB/s - 5.5MB/s depending on the Gayle. Each Gayle is unique. Used CF card also affects on the same way.

Not that it was really designed for Gayle to have different speeds, there are shifts that happen when chips are fabricated that can affect speed and or power consumption which can vary the overall performance per chip. The Gayle chips likely operated within specs specified for their original use case in a stock a600/a1200.

Producing some hundred mainboards and sourcing all parts takes more time then making a bowl of popcorn.
Its normal that this takes some time.

If you order some hundred PCBs and all the parts to solder them
then the normal time to arrive at your place can be 3-4 weeks.

So if Igor says the production is restarted now and a new batch will be produced now, then its absolute normal that from him ordering the parts to him having the soldered cards 2 month can pass.
