I want to inform everyone that the production of Vampire 600 V2 cards is restarted.
To improve quality we have moved complete production to Europe now. First batch will contain 200 cards and everyone from our list will be contacted to confirm their interest. We will provide more info very soon.

Congratulations on getting V600 V2 back in production.

Are there any updates to this card?

woohoo!

kinda makes a little bit of me want to trawl for another A600 - if their prices haven't skyrocketed on amibay or ebay!

:D

[localism on] IGORE MAJSTORE! [localism off]

200 more Vamps coming out :-) Hope there are enough A600s, sadly none here.

Improved board design looks nice and clean. Do they still smell on tobacco? :-)

Will there be any in Amiga stores?

Do I see a slight difference in the DIGITAL-VIDEO circuitry?, comparing the current version, I noticed the Resistors near the DIGITAL-VIDEO port are now ceramic caps? Just looks like Cs versus Rs and the numbering seems different...

Hard to tell with the picture.

How do I get added to the list?
The Apollo website says that A600 is still on hold.
Thanks,

I think they're going through the ones already on the list before accepting new.

Thats a real shame :(
I contacted Apollo way back in June or July and was told that production would start in July. Well that came and went and even now 6 months later can't even get my name on a list to get one. Apollo just fill you with false hope it seems. :-/

@Mike

Marlon Beijer's comment should be ignored as far as he doesnt actually know whats the status of the production scale and list (No dis-respect Marlon!! Praise be your MilkyTracker coding effort! :)

Obviously its taken longer time to restart the production than the team had planned for. Considering its the job of a few, and the product is still in development, its not entirely suprising.
Igors post about restart is only 3 days old, so Im sure there is a long backlog of users that have pre-paid already, and possibly people that used to be on Kipper2k's list that are still waiting (not knocking Kipper2k, cause I got my board from him, and he was superhelpful and all that jazz).

SO, I wouldnt consider any comment in this thread valid with regards to production, unless they come from Igor or someone else in the Apollo Team themselves that actually knows what they are talking about.

Im sure Marlon just wanted to highlight that there is most likely a backlog of people ahead of you. He did say "I think they're going through the ones already on the list before accepting new.", which you shouldnt consider a rejection, just a reminder of queuing.

It may be better to not re-open the list and instead only supply them through third party dealers. Hopefully that way Igor would have a little more time to deal with other things and spend less time doing admin for new V600 orders. It's not a great use of his talents to have him chasing up payments, packaging up individual boards for mailing and following up on delivery issues.

@Ian

Indeed. Ive seen vendors reciving and announcing small batches of Vampires.

And Mike, in the original post of Igor he posts "We will provide more info very soon.".

I would assume how to get a card is part of that info.

I wouldn't jump to conclusions until an official word about how to obtain one is announced. As has been mentioned, any comments made about the production is speculation. Also a little patience and understanding about past difficulties with the manufacture of the V600 helps.

Unfortunately things occurred out of Kipper2K's control that involved the board manufacture in China being ditched and him having to step away from the project. He poured a lot of blood, sweat and tears into the project and has done a fantastic job under a combination of very difficult circumstances.

Now that productions of the V600 has started up again in Europe I'm sure we'll hear more soon.

We live in a strange world of extremes.....

We've waited extremely long to get the AMIGA we've all always wanted to see happen.

As extremely hard as it is to get a Vampire, it's also conversely as extremely excellent at attention to and execution of it's design, too!!!!!!

And it's extremely expensive compared to alternatives availble out there!

And we're willing to put up with all of it, even though there are faster, bigger capacity, more flexible, and portable systems that can be acquired, because the software and hardware paradigm come together to make for the extremely BEST electronic logic deduction (although usually using addition) machine that exists on Earth today!!!!!

HAPPY NEW VAMPIRE YEAR TO ALL THAT ARE A PART OF THIS SCENE!!!!!!

(yeah, I just might be somebody that needs a bit of the medication)

I still doubt it will be as fast as the v500 IDE

Roy: maybe not as fast but way better than standard a600 ide speed..

The speed limit is probably not in the hardware, but rather in the drivers
