| What's in a name? A lot of course! :) As the release of the Vampire V4 Standalone approaches this means that the Apollo Team are becoming fathers of a wonderful and promising new born baby girl. That makes us, fans and users, the godfathers isn't it? :) I suppose that the Amiga name is still trademarked and that we need a better name than standalone. That's why I started a poll in the Vampire Accelerators Users Facebook group for a nice and meaningful name for our new baby girl. I compiled a list of meaningful names, but everyone is free to add a new name of course:) At the moment Lorraine is ahead :) I invite everyone in this forum to vote for the name of his liking. | Well, why isn't it called "Vampiress"? I like someone's suggestion of making the "V" appear like the checkmark logo Amiga had. v/Ampiress

Lorraine is ok name, but one Lorraine in Amiga history is enough. My proposition is Lorraine 2.0. Or something with mr. Pillow :)

| Vampy McBloodface Jokes aside: How's Khouri or Arilou? The former from the novel Revelation Space by Alastair Reynolds. The latter from the all-knowing alien race that resides in Star Control II's quasispace.

| This isn't an official poll, so ofc it won't be respected as the name of the product.

You're right Chris but we are free to suggest one in the hope that Apollo would consider it :) Like we say in Dutch "Nee hebben we,ja kunnen we krijgen". Roughly translated in to English " No we already have, Yes we can get." I don't know if there's an equivalent idiom in English.

Vampire name has established itself, has a proper meaning [of ressurecting Amiga from dead] and is copyright free, so I see no reasons why product could not be simply labeled as what it is - a Vampire Standalone V4

| Is this official then Nicolas? I have used in the past Phoenix as nickname for the Standalone. If the team choose this name then its well suited as the Amiga is rising from its ashes :)

| Is that a bitwise rotation? Like chunky to planar conversion? So that Vampire V4 somehow = Amiga Reimplemented? I like it. Maybe we could include 68080 in there too.

| I mentioned the name Phoenix sometime last year as well as a Working Name for the standalone. I even posted some photos of a FireBird, and there was some mention of it in Serbian Legends as a Rainbow Colored FireBird, much like the Amiga Checkmark Logo. The connections are all there, and I second that...Phoenix is a good name for an Apollo Accelerator.
