| Since silver 5 and the new saga 9 driver I have been experiencing issues with connecting to the network. I use a 3 com 3c589 pcmcia network card and vanilla genesis stack. I start genesis which reports all is fine and it's connected. However when I attempt to access lan or wan I find out that I'm not in connected. Ping report unreachable etc. I thought I had pinned this down to something bandwidth related as I am using 1280x800 24bit screen mode with a matching backdrop. Changing to 16bit appeared to alleviate the issues. However now I'm not so sure. To get the card/stack working I need to try 4 or 5 times restarting genesis or reboot (which doesn't always help) . Are there any logs I can view to help me trouble shoot this?

| How does SILVER 6 work in this regard? The latest core is not SILVER5 but SILVER6 SILVER 6 was released to improve PCMCIA.

| Bad reporting on my part. I have silver 6 installed with 16.05 saga. I have noticed the problem since silver 5 and was expecting silver 6 to resolve it.

Using of the Silver6 core: Does any other Devs:Networks device or version works better with this combination? Does this 3com 3c589 NIC works better with the another TCP/IP-stack? Does vanilla Genesis stack works better with the another PCMCIA NIC adapter?

| OK, still testing but... with the 3Com 3c589 I installed Miami with which i get higher successful connections but not 100%. I purchased roadshow and haven't had any problems. 100% connection rate. Does Genesis and Miami share any components that might be the root cause? A specific version of AmiTCP? If i read correctly Miami has its own integrated stack and Genesis uses AmiTCP.
