Hi and Big Thank You to the Team

Hi, I'm new on this forum.
I totally leaved AmigaLand in 2000 because of too many recurring disappointments. I came back to play a little bit with NGs in 2008, and finally the Vampire project brought me the will to put my hands back on a 500, restore it and enhance it.
Big thank you to all the team for the huge work and big achievement.

I waited patiently for eight months and finally got my Santa Claus mail, followed quickly by a nice packet in my mailbox one week later.
I had a hard time pushing firmly the Vampire into the 68000's old socket, but it's finally in place and working. Now it's time to alter the case to add new connectors.

I'll never say it enough, thank you for making this possible, you are doing a great job.

I wonder if it it necessary to drill holes in the case. I'm thinking that the DIGITAL-VIDEO cable can pass through the left expansion trap-door of the A500-case. Has anyone already tested this?

Sometimes I lay the top piece over the Amiga to pretend that I am done working on it.

I would also like to say thank you to the team for reviving the classic Amiga's.

I've been trying to find a classic machine to restore, but with no luck so far my back-up plan is to get a stand alone Vampire.

Well, my goal is to bring it under my arm to my friends' house and see their face when I plug it directly to DIGITAL-VIDEO and RJ45 to share good time with good old games. And I don't want it to look like a badly customed computer with cables going out of it, I want clean connectors.

He has a good point! Why ever close your Amiga case? We will forever be making minor tweaks here and there! Both my A1200 and my A500 + Vampire have the screws removed and the covers just sitting on top. Why ever close them?

Yes, I removed the trap door cover on the left side of the A500 and let the DIGITAL-VIDEO cable just hang out the side as it connects to the monitor. But there is currently no way to secure the video cable, so be careful and don't move the case without disconnecting the DIGITAL-VIDEO cable or it could damage the connector on the Vampire board.

  Just a few thoughts.

That's a good one! I use my A1200 and A500 covers to keep the dust out. There are already too many dust bunnies in there! They just sit on top and look pretty! :-)

At somepoint I want to design a new A500 side bus slot cover with an DIGITAL-VIDEO socket it in, (maybe and SD socket as well) ..
