putting in parallel then which is better to use, 10uf or 22uf?

adding 1 x 10uf is good,
adding 1 x 22uf will be even little better,
you can even add 2x22uf if you want.

Excellent cheers Gunnar. I do have one of those little, cheap, repeaters but that doesn't seem to make much difference.

So I guess if the current one is 10uf, then adding a 10uf will make it 20uf. So best of replacing it totally with a 22uf, or even a 47uf if thats the case.

So what are those capacitators for, C3 and C6?
I assume that the best value can be calculated for the best signal?
I have now added two 10yF, when it's good to add another 22yF I'll do it.
What's the upper limit?

Manfred

C3 and C6 are mounted at outputs of two voltage regulators. Typical application (from manufacturer) is as Gunnar suggested - 2x 22uF / each output.

Hello everybody,

I have the same problem and I corrected with P96Mode refining the settings.
Some monitors do not support frequencies below 58Hz and others yes.
The test screens are;
Acers V243HQ (currently)
Philips Brightness 2208
Point of view TFT22
Some resolutions work without worries and on others the black ones.
I could notice that the frequencies of resolutions too low made the stall (black screen).
Some screens accept lower frequencies better than others.

Just looking for some capacitors. Is there any preference to using either 6.3v or 10v rated 22uf caps?

Hi! I have a 600v2 from kipper. if I wanted to replace the capacitors, what should I buy? the resistances of the hdmi output must be fixed?

A good choice which is easy to get is:
Size 0805 10uf 16V
You can solder them on top the existing cap.
You can put 1 or 2 on top each of the CAPS labeled C1 and C3

Small update after two months.

As I wrote before adding 2x22u didn't helped.
Card was compared by my friend with his card. Same enviroment - mobo, os, psu, etc. He played mp3s and movies and my card was mading 0,5s random blackouts. His card worked correctly without aby problems. That's sad. I did not even have chance to enjoy it :-(

Did you try on the same monitor? Have you tried a DIGITAL-VIDEO-repeater?

Which Core Version do you use?
Which PixelClock Mhz has this screenmode?

Dear Gunnar,

What does it matter? If one card in same environment (mobo, psu, os on hdd cables, repeater) have blackouts and second no.

Tests were made in "out of the box" screenmode in Coffin (can't check pixelclock now cause card is still in my friend hands - he will review card in search of some production defects).
Both cards were updated to 2.8.

Yes the cores are available in different speed grades.
Its important information which speed version you run. (x10/x11/x12)

Also the screen resolution is important to know including pixelclock.
E.g do you get SYNC loss mainly in some resolutions?

Hi Gunnar.

Same problems here. Got worse when I upgraded the core from 2.8 to 2.9. I tried the C3 and C6 capacitor solution, but with no visible change (although the hangups rate lowered). I need to check the 2.10 core, but I reckon there will not be much change here.

But I wanted to ask about something else. In one of the earlier responses we can also read the following:

" 2. The series resistors for wave termination at DIGITAL-VIDEO output is to high. 270ohms has a Vswing (TMDS 3,3V - signal level) at 0,3-0,4V and is too low. The errata of DIGITAL-VIDEO signal set the Vswing to minimum of 0,7V and maximum of 1,4V!
Reduced values to 27 or 30 Ohms is very better..."

Are those the resistors labeled as r23 to r30 respectively? Do you think it makes sense to try with different (lower) resistances there?

Thanks in advance!

I used to have that problem also, I had an Samsung 24" tv who had real problems with accepting DIGITAL-VIDEO signals from the Vampire. I found out that it would not Accept singnal lover than 60Hz. So I went and bought an Philips 24'' Full HD 24PFT4032. This tv is amazing, no problem what so ever. I now can use the Vampire in highest resulution, because this tv Accept frequensies as low as 25Hz. And ofc it have an scart input.
I also was looking at the spec released for the V4 card and I am woundering why it only goes up to 720P. Is it because a full HD signal drains to much Power?

V4 supports the same range of resolutions as V2.

V4 supports the same range of resolutions as V2.

But WHY not go full HD on a new card? Its not like its a high resolution this days.
