| I have installed my new Vampire V2 in the A1200 I'm booting with os 3.1.4 but when I reach workbench title (after loadWB probably), nothing more is loaded. Mouse works however, there is no freeze. I have removed first line ACA tool to load Kickstart module, there is nothing suspicious in WBStartup and in in User-startup I have tried with wb3.1.4 floppy with same result I have commented out cpu checkinstall with same result is there something else I need to do to boot properly? Is there any configuration I need to perform ? thank you in advance for support Alessandro

| Hi there. I am running 3.1.4 system fine on my V1200. If you are on discord PM me there to assist you. NikosV1200 is my nickname there. There could be many things for it. Are you mapping the 3.1.4 rom? I gathered that you were mapping yr rom with Acatool before so you should map it now as well.

| That is the experience I also had. WB loads but nothing after that. If you startup without startup-sequence, you can go to the shell and when you loaded, you will get an error message that there is a library error. You should map kickstart 3.1.4 and after this, 3.1.4 works or use WB 3.1 (or 3.0) and install the vampire drivers (SAGA core). I decided to go for Coffin but now eagerly await core 2.14 for Apollo OS.

yes, but I have also physical ROM for 3.1.4, mapping should be a plus (unless it was for the ACA board) i'm on discord: alessandro_braccini

| is there a guide to map rom with vampire ? is there any software to install to use the board (I remember having installed some LIBS for the ACA for example) ? (the worst case I will reserve some times to create a partition for coffin os... wanted to have a try to the Vampire with the OS I already had) it seems the problem described here: EXTERNAL LINK but first case was not working I remember having installed 68030 libraries for the ACA, would be a problem related to this ? (strange booting with 3.1.4 floppy versione did not solve). I cannot boot with a 3.1 or 3.0 since it seems having conflict with 3.1.4 physical kickstart (thanks for any additional help)

| Alessandro, When you purchased AOS 3.1.4 you would have received a software version of Kickstart 3.1.4 suitable for maprom purposes. You'll either need to flash this onto the V1200 using VampireFlash or maprom it using VampireMap. I personally prefer flashing it as it avoids the double boot from cold start. Instructions can be found here: https://wiki.apollo-accelerators.com/doku.php/system_tools:kickstarts

| ah right.. I understand now from the link provided vampire ignore physical kickstart and comes with a kick 3.1 preloaded, indeed I should flash 3.1.4 (I suspect the experimental intuition library on 3.1.4 may cause problem or something else then)

There is a third option that I forgot. If you don't want to flash or map the kickstart ROM, you can copy the files over from the OS 3.1.4 "Modules" disk. This is designed to allow the Amiga to boot if it has a KS 3.0 or 3.1 hardware ROM. Doing this will give you the same double boot from cold start that mapping a KS ROM will do.
