Nothing but a brief mention of a plan.

My guess is GOLD3 core and V4 Standalone are current priorities, so best "when 3D" is when first two got released and stable enough (something like V2 is now) so team could focus on 3D (likely for V4 Vamps only).

Would be nice to have some nice features on the 3d core.

Perhaps some function are already implemented.

To clarify some questions.
The APOLLO Team is working on / evaluating an 3D accelerator.
From 5000 foot height, the concept can be described as similar to the concept of the VOODOO. But its NOT a VOODOO remake.

The APOLLO 3D unit has a number of differences to the old VOODOO which we regards as better or improvements.

We started work on demo / demo game atm.

Its not known. I do hope that V4 Cyclone V FPGA should enable not only GOLD2.12 + GOLD3 feats in one + Full precision FPU + Larger Caches + A bit higher clock ... but also this Voodoo like 3D implementation. That would be just great!

No new work that I have seen on 3d aspects. I have from time to time converted and made some models for demos such some Star Wars models and some tanks. That is about it and the goal with that stuff was a 3D demo.

Yeah, it will be realised  in Two more weeks tm. Full Radeon 3d workalike they say, all on FPGA.

Very good, but will there be any freelance or even a SH to exploit this feature ? Vampire standalones must come out asap and sell like there is no tomorrow to build a market. One will be mine and I hope countless more all around the world. Apollo Team must become rich and build a new amiga based on a 3Ghz asic :)

I think he was being sarcastic in the timeline and perhaps even the capability and features... Nothing is known at this point outside knowing it's a feature they want to implement at some point.

One step at the time.

Now, it seems to be:
- Near now:V4 Standalone and V2 GOLD 2.12/GOLD3 release
- Further from now: Further V2 and V4 core improvements, V1200, V4 for A500 and A600
- Even more further from now: Such things as 3D core and Vamps in even bigger FPGAs, more Vamp related software
- Even further further from now: ASIC

Its not even like that, seems each step of quite a success is needed for the next one.
