I have just spent half an hour trying to figure out why RTG isnt working on the GOLD3 Alpha - I can only assume you have removed it or deactivated it which to me is a backwards step! What the hell is going on? I have waited so long for this and yet it still dosnt do what its supposed to?

Think its always been said that you can either have AGA or RTG - not both due to the FPGA size. I wasnt expecting it from what i read in the forums

this is alpha release to test the aga only,
this is in no way a final full featured core

Do you understand what is a ALPHA ?

This core is intended to test the AGA chipset engine, and only that.

I understand you are complaining, just that.

If you dont want help test, just keep the RTG core,

and be patient.

Apparently you do not know what an alpha is after all and you sound like a little child who is rolling on the floor back and forth causing a huge tantrum. Alpha means you are testing the AGA core that is in alpha stage and RTG is disabled so we can test AGA exclusively. If AGA+RTG is enabled we the testers would not know which fault is it....

Is it AGA?
Is it AGA and RTG?
Is the combination of such and such causing a problem?

It will be impossible for the tester and anyone determine where the issue is in the AGA side of the core to be fixed. It could also mean that the AGA is soo alpha that combining them together will bring more trouble than it is worth.

Also...if you have noticed...had you clicked on the RED LED on the bottom right corner of the screen there was a huge 30 page of warnings and informing you it is AGA and that RTG is not enabled and and and and and and and and and.....then ones you downloaded the core you tried it and here we are.....

sooooo.....

Heh.

you are wrong - a real world test would test Both AGA and RTG together as they need to function side by side - John William go fuck yourself i am sick of this whole community.

Such dark hostility from such personality of your ilk is not needed here. If you wish to leave no one is stopping you. But continue this route and the community will get rid of you themselves. So perhaps...go outside for a walk and take a deep breath and understand we are not here to serve you.

Be thankful that such project even existed from the first place. We could still be using 68030 for Amiga 500/600 and ocs/ecs chipset and everything else was nothing more than a fantasy or emulators.

In the last thread you threw a hissyfit, I defended you, pointing out that people on forum/any community have a wide array of styles and attitudes.

This time Im pretty shocked of the lack of understanding and maturity you show.

I would think anything with "Alpha", "Beta", "Early Access" added to its name should be treated as such.
flype highlighted this, and still you whine. Pretty astounishing.

The FULL release of GOLD 3 (not alpha) is supposed to have RTG and AGA/native video. To accelerate testing, releasing Alpha/Betas to a wider audience will accelerate the maturity of a product.
Whoever downloads and use a pre-release product also assume the potential hassle of dealing with a incomplete product.

It clearly states prior to downloading that it's aga only with no rtg or fpu for testing the aga side only. Also that there will be no support given for this alpha core.

I am sorry but I cant be the only one to be so dissapointed? also I am sorry I have gone of the deep end but it always seems like people on here talk down to me or belittle me... I know its Alpha and I know the fact it exisits is amazing in its self but it seems to me Apollo team could enable RTG and AGA get rid of the cable soup and still test the AGA features - like i said it would make more sense to test AGA with RTG as they will need to co exist anyway?

Adam,

The RTG and AGA core functioning side by side is for the final release.
When we feel the AGA core is good enough for release then AGA and RTG will be totally integrated to work seamless with each other.
But first the AGA core has to be fully developed before this can take place.
Integrating AGA and RTG core with each other is step 2 in this process.
There's where you and the users come in, test stuff make those dumps from WinUAE etc, you can help the team gather a lot of data to analyze so the core can be developed faster and better.

This isn't a real world test not at all, please understand that, it's an alpha core not even a beta.

Yes having aga and rtg would have been good. But we don't know the reasoning behind just testing the aga side, there must be a good reason they didn't enable the rtg or the fpu for this alpha core.
I'd expect that there will be an alpha in the future that will have both rtg and aga in the future once they have confirmed it's working as expected.

Really ? It is not at all my purpose, but to explain. I could also close my mouth and not provide any explanation. I'm not the core developer, i'm user as you are, only i'm more well aware, so i explain what i know.
