It seems working.
I downloaded a video with SMTube and convert it with ffmpeg now.
All done on an AmigaOneX5000 with AmigaOs4.1FE

Fun isn't it :) The feeling playing movies on my A500 is nice. Remember back in the day when friends on PC played VCD. Later on i got a PPC but still could not play what i can with my Vampire now.

Hi,

Is it necessary to resize the videos?

You can also use FFmpeg on MacOS : EXTERNAL LINK
Funny to watch latest 10' Amiga retro cast video about Amiga Forever on a V4 with Riva :-)

i'm a bit late to this party, but i use handbrake for video conversion, ISO-to-mp4 with chapter extraction, basic video chopping, and audio stream extraction.

basically a pretty front end for ffmpeg.

Hi,

Do you use handbrake to watch videos with Riva?

Do you convert them to MPEG2?

Can you explain to me how you do it?

Thank you.

Handbrake is open source converter and video ripper, not a player.

Handbrake has built in presets or you can define your own.

Even end file is named .MP4 you can select mp2as video output format, as well as other mentioned options.

It's most convenient to built your own preset (e.g.named "Amiga Riva") and then simply use it further.
