QSEC Team is pleased to announce the playable alpha v0.80B of Jake and Peppy for the Apollo V4.

You spoke, and we listened: The most-requested improvements and additions have been implemented - most notable is the smooth rotation animation of the ship!

I have uploaded the playable alpha to Aminet, and it will also be available soon from the apollo-computer.com website. Until those sources are updated you can download the archive from 'Vamped Amiga' on Telegram: EXTERNAL LINK
We hope you enjoy the continuing developments to this game (we know there is a lot to do still!) and we welcome any feedback.

As usual, we will eventually prepare a Youtube video. I will post a link here when we have time to complete this.

  QSEC Team.

Keyboard, or USB gamepad only, due to multiple button inputs.

I could do joystick for direction and Keyboard for buttons, but that's low priority at the moment.

Cheers.

Just got my vampire 1200 2 months ago after a year of waiting. Seeing more an more of these games that require a v4, what gives? Is my new Vampire V2 already obsolete? Is a V4 that much more more powerful than a v4? Why is the V2 not being supported?

Hi Jeremy, the V1200 is a great card. However, there is one issue and 2 technical limitations with enabling Jake and Peppy to run on the V1200: 1) I don't have an A1200, try as I may to get one. 2) I am using 16-bit audio, and I would need to write a new audio engine for the V1200. 3) The game on the V4 can load maps requiring up to 400 MB of RAM, which means I would need to cut down the map size and restrict maps for the V1200.

All of these can be overcome, of course, but it's mostly lack of time to make these changes. I have to focus on getting the game finished on one platform, and that's for the V4 as that is what I have.

Most of Arti's 68080 ports run on V1200, I believe. So there is still good software coming for the V1200.
