AmiDuke_RTG.lha Version: 1.0.10
EXTERNAL LINK
Requirements:

1) An RTG Amiga with a fast 68040 processor (CyberGFX API)
2) 64 MB of FASTRAM
3) AHI installed (v4.18 recommended)
4) 3.1 ROMS (3.0 ROMS may cause it to run slowly)
5) A copy of the PC Duke Nukem 3D data file (must be the Atomic version)

Configuration Options:

The tooltype 'CLOSE_WB' can be used to close the Workbench (3.1 ROMS
recommended).
You must run AmiDuke from the Workbench, running from the Shell is not
supported.
The AHI device used will be the one configured in your AHI Prefs (music unit),
this will be written to the log file.
You will need to place the PC game data file DUKE3D.GRP in the AmiDuke folder.

Performance Considerations:

1) If you have a Blizzard/Apollo you should really be using BlizKick/RemApollo
to get most speed out of your Amiga.
2) Fast File System is actually not, use PFS3 instead.
3) Stick with v4.18 of AHI as the later versions without the 'FAST' modes are
slower.

Limitations:

1) No network or multi-player support
2) No music support (sorry guys)
3) No joystick support

Version History:

1.0.8 - Initial release based on the AGA version
1.0.9 - Fixed graphic issues with ramps
1.0.10 - Fixed close Workbench tooltype

DOSBox_RTG.lha Version: 0.74.014
EXTERNAL LINK
Overview:

Amiga RTG 68k port of DosBox 0.74.

DOSBox is a DOS-emulator that uses the SDL-library which makes DOSBox very easy
to port to different platforms. DOSBox has already been ported to many different
platforms, such as Windows, BeOS, Linux, MacOS X and AmigaOS.

Unfortunately this special optimized 68k port is still very slow on real classic
hardware.

Requirements:

1) An RTG Amiga with a fast 68040 processor
2) AHI installed (v4.18 recommended)
3) 3.1 ROMS (3.0 ROMS may cause it to run slowly)
4) Some old PC games or demos

Features:

  * RTG SDL port
  * MIDI support
  * AHI Sound support
  * Fullscreen and window mode support

Configuration Options:

The tooltype 'CLOSE_WB' can be used to close the Workbench (3.1 ROMS
recommended).
The tooltype 'RELATIVE_MOUSE' can be used to capture relative mouse movement
(only for fullscreen modes).
You must run DOSBox from the Workbench, running from the Shell is not supported.
The AHI device used will be the one configured in your AHI Prefs (Unit 0).
You will need to install the CAMD library if you want to use an external MIDI
device.
The DOSBox log file will tell you which core it is actually using (may be
different to the config setting).

Performance Considerations:

1) The number of cycles you set for the CPU emulation is critical, too high for
your real CPU will stall the emulation.
2) The fastest core to use is 'simple' but it's also the least compatible and
may crash.
3) If you have a Blizzard/Apollo you should really be using BlizKick/RemApollo
to get most speed out of your Amiga.
4) Fast File System is actually not, use PFS3 instead.
5) Stick with v4.18 of AHI as the later versions without the 'FAST' modes are
slower.
6) Running in a window with an 8 bit screen mode will be slower.

Limitations:

1) No CDROM support
2) No network support

Version History:

0.74.009 - Initial release.
0.74.010 - Added back support for 486/586 CPU emulation.
0.74.011 - Fixed up mouse handling (SDL fix).
0.74.012 - Fixed timing issue (SDL fix), added joystick support.
0.74.013 - Mouse handling updates (SDL fix).
0.74.014 - Fixed native MIDI support.

If you are going to try Dosbox the cycle rate setting is critical, I would recommend 1000-2000 as a starting point on a vampire and then adjust the rate manually with the keyboard shortcuts to get to the optimal performance.

Thanks. Its about slow 486 (or roughly twice speed of 386DX), for people to know what kind of DOS games could run. Could try Frontier First Encounters :)

Surely, native port of open FFF would be great!

Ooooh... the big issue with PC games is they expect analog Joysticks...

Works great if you have enough cycles..

Probably best suited to adventure games and RPG games on the vampire.
