AAAAAH!! I LOVE THAT PRIMITIVE SOUND ZX SPECTRUM MAKES! It reminds me of Apple II/C so much....aah...my head is swimming....I feel...cozzy!!

Make a video of Apple II/gs emulator (KEGS) please, please, please running on Vampire..please!

Also make a video of VICE emulator again!

Also make a video of Mac running Apple II emulator!

Brings back a few memories although the Spectrum game shown is a new one .

I'll work my way thru the emulators from A to Z in no real order but I'm sure they wil all perform extremely well.

There are issues with Mac emulation currently

So many exclamation marks, caps, 'please's etc. Are you by any chance using the name xboxown on IRC? :-)

Sharp X68000 emmulator would be amazing. Amiga had many really sloppy arcade ports. Sharp had amazing arcade  ports and Vampire should have enough juice to emulate it. Using MT-32 or other midi device the emulation would be perfect! :)

I would be curious how Atari 800 emulation is on the Vampire..

Ohhh man ohh man!!!

The standalone is going to be SOOOO worth it. I had an Apple ][ 64K (no name) clone in 1980, it wasn't the Franklin or Orange. It STILL cost $3,000 dollars in Canada! (Bought it brand new.) I only ever had 2 games for it, had no more money for like FOREVER after that purchase, but I DID buy Choplifter (there should be a way to turn that helicopter around and face the other way) and also had Temple of Apshai from Epyx. I had a green monochrome monitor and an 80 column card. Never had a modem to get onto BBSs. You know, it may have even cost more than that, because I also bought a 9 pin WIDE PAPER (11, 14 inch?) (Epson) dot matrix printer.... You know, it might have been much closer to $5,000 in total that my mother spent to get it!!!!

So a ~$700 Canadian SUPER Amiga in 2016 that can "perfectly" emulate more than a dozen computers and video games consoles (combined) is almost like "free"!!!!

Kipper2K will be assembling Apollo Core Amigas in his sleep even!

+100000000000000000000000000000

But after watching the Apple IIe emulation in action do you understand why I love Apple II! That horrible sound it produces in games and graphics is what it gives it's magic!

Yes, agree totally.

There's a certain "charm" about it. Everything today is so polished and sterile and just so "perfect". That's why there's a big interest now again in vinyl records, for instance... But they cost a fortune.

It amazes me what they were trying to do back then and in fact did sometimes. REPTON, for instance, seemed to be the arcade game DEFENDER!!!

Defender has quite an interesting backstory. If you have some spare time you should read a bit about it.

Speaking of games, I hope someday Gunnar completes I believe his imitation game of 1943 and there was also a Star Wars shooter he was working on when we were on the NatAmi website. Although, working on the APOLLO CORE supersedes all else!!!!

I noticed it too! It is expected really, since VICE is the most accurate emulation out there with 99% C64 library compatibility and it emulates SID, and 1541 with true emulation and fastloader and and and and...it is no surprise that it goes at 5 to 6 fps :) One gotta make due with that they got really.

It's not speed that was the issue in vice or frodo but file names , they just corrupt the d64 names and won't load them. I'll try later and have another go with fusion . That's being a pain too

Frodo and vice do something like this..

The_last_v8 becomes something like this /he*#\st-_v) and it won't load anything.

Sd2iec and Ultimate1541 have similar problems with long file names or rather fat32 does.

You mean you did not move it to the CF (PFS or SFS) file system? You ran it directly on the MicroSD side itself with f32?

I did both and unzipped onto the Amiga fs but I'll experiment some more later ... I'm supposed to be working at the mo :)

Frodo C64 emulator , better sound and good speed.

Some of the .d64 images appear to be corrupt.

How did you get frodo to work? With me, frodo complains of needing a 68040 or some such. Can you post the link of the frodo that works with you? I enjoyed watching you come down the stairs by the way hahahah!!
