Could someone who owns a Vampire card test if Aros 68k boots on it? For a start simply use a nightly. It would be great to know if it runs and perhaps a short video on youtube. Thanks in advance. I am working on new version of Aros Vision that is below the current RTG version and Vampire 2/ Apollo would be my main target for it.

Hmm, none of us has ever run Aros on any 68k before.

Your help Olaf or Wawa with running AROS on Vampire is highly welcome. I try run AROS Vision Developer distro in UAE and it do not boots with 2mb of chipmem. AROS nightly boots but it is very buggy - for example I was unable to change WB resolution etc. Guess you can help us here a lot. Pls contact us on apollo-team freenode IRC channel.

very buggy is a bit exaggerated, but yes, the screenmode.prefs bug is very annoying and simply puts everyone interested instantly off. thats certainly a thing to hate about aros, that the simple and most necessary things dont get done when one needs them.
shrugg..
me or olaf may send you a proper screenmode file, and this way it should be fixed.

regarding screenmode prefs you can use the file from latest aros vision there. I have replaced zune with MUI38 there so I replaced prefs files where possible.

I will upload my current "real" version of Aros Vision today. Not everything final (i think about also replacing Zune with MUI38 to make it identical to the "RTG" version) but ok for testing already I think
just started uploading it... 135 MB packed
10% of RTG (final version will not change very much in size)

I think AROS is the future of Amiga..
We have had Aros booting on Apollo. So technically there should be no reason for it not to work.. Also I think getting AROS RTG running on the Vampire should be not a big issue.
But frankly most of us lack experience with Aros. We even have problems running it on UAE. :/ Maybe you can come to our IRC and can give us some hints?

I have put tons of languages in the big RTG version. This is a smaller one more decicated for user. I put in ACE because it is amiga basic compatible.

@gunnar & others here are my bit outdated hints about how to run aros on an amiga. i think they mostly apply today as well. http://www.amigaforum.de/index.php?topic=44.msg223#msg223
