The Apollo Team has tuned the IDE controller on the V4 for the next release. Depending on the used IDE device the V4 can now reach up 16-19 MB/sec.

Here my V4

SD Card moving from 16 to 19 MBPs! Nice boost!

Hope one day IDE SDD/HDD could get UltraATA UDMA ATA 66 - 133 too

This has nothing to do with the SD card.  BigGun clearly wrote "IDE Controller".

It does for me - I use an IDE->SD Card adapter :D

Great to see this. Together with the on-board NIC, can't wait for this next update.

Wow, impressive!
With the standalone in place and not so much of legacy to care about, is a DMA enabled IDE solution thinkable?

I know it's a theoretical approach as the need for high-speed IDE is not so urgent on the Amiga platform and up to 20 MB/s is already very impressive.

Yes.

The Vampire has DMA channels.
We today use the DMA for Ethernet for example.

So yes if the IDE driver in OS are updated one could also use DMA for IDE.

So, with DMA enabled there would be another benefit, I assume.
Doing IOs right now on the V4 is heavily using the CPU, right?
So with an DMA enabled IDE driver not only the throughput will increase but do so with less CPU usage as well. Correct?
