Vamp IDE + Buffer

In a video that I believe one of the designers posted, he was playing Payback, and I noticed one thing. He had a EIDE99 buffer interface connected to the vamp IDE port.

The one that splits one connector into primary and secondary ports (2 ports)
I have one of those myself, and I wonder. Do those run faster on the Vampire as well, or are they bound by the speed of the A1200 IDE port?

It's slower (normal IDE speed), because with it you cant use V500 fast-ide mode.

This is without EIDE99 and fastide enabled:

Can it be made to work together with the built in IDE connector, so that one can use high speed for OS drive and slower (A1200 +EIDE 99 adapter) for storage/what ever?

Usually fastide works only with this kind of IDE CF adaper:

I tried to use a 3-way cable with a CF adapter like the one pictured as the OS drive and a secondary SD adapter, but the power light blinked and only the CF card worked. The SD adapter wasn't working with the IDE. Maybe because on CF works on FastIDE?
