Hi Guys,
Why wont Date&Time and Locale settings save?
I click save on my new settings but this does not appear to help.
Whenever I reboot the V4, everything returns to the default time and locale settings.
  What am I missing?

Have you the RTC module installed ?

Remember that this little module has a little lifetime battery...

Anyway the date and time must be set and used from workbench time prefs, but to save them you must use I2Clock which is installed by SAGA drivers.

And that not work i have similar problem. I know how this work, you use Time program in Prefs and set time and then i use amiga shell and write i2clock chip=ds3231 save, and it works fine even if pull of electric cord but when i use machine etc. 2 days after then hour and minutes are not correct it remember the time when i shut down machine.

This was work core 7 but not these newer cores. Maybe this rtc module is broken.

I had similar experience, bought the little RTC module.
It keeps the date/time updated for some months, but then not.

I think You have to replace RTC module.

Danilo, Thank you for your very helpful information.  Yes, I do have the RTC module installed. I've also gleamed some more information from Kamelito, over on Discord.
i2Clock chip=DS3231  Save
i2Clock chip=DS3231  Load
i2Clock chip=DS3231  Show
i2Clock chip=DS3231  Scan
Additional i2Clock commands, which can be run in the CLI.
I hope this helps others having the same issue.

If you have the RTC module, then your battery is probably dead. You could try replacing the battery yourself to fix the time loss issue.

Unless you are using your Amiga regularly, the battery will deteriorate more rapidly, from being over discharged.
