Apollo OS - CF In WINUAE

Hi All,

Can anyone point me to a guide on how to get the Apollo OS CF card to run under WINUAE? I've run as admin and tried mounting the CF as a HDD on something that looks like an A1200 with an AROS ROM. Just get errors and doesn't boot. I'm sure I'm missing something obvious.

  TIA

  Mick

I think there's a special version of the AROS ROM you would need for WinUAE, and possibly a replacement for the AROS ROM which is included on the CF itself. Not 100% certain though. I've run 'vanilla' AROS under FS-UAE, but that required compiling the AROS ROM with a special flag so that FS-UAE could use it.

Indeed, you need AROS ROM for Apollo OS.

What I do is extract second partition from the IMA file and then I just rename it to WinUAE HDF format.

Works like a charm out-of-the-box.

Sorry to ask another question, but what tools did you use to extract the partition?

You can use 7-zip on Windows.

You don't need to extract the partition, you can mount the entire HD image (IMA), boot, and view and use all partitions

The "updated" AROS ROMs are found on all AROS distributions, the built-in WinUAE ROM is just outdated and only works with older AROS 68k distros.

Hi...CF utilizes PFS which isn't out of box upheld on Kickstarts (basic Amiga imitating). So on the off chance that you wish to "add records through UAE" (why not on genuine Amiga while having one?) you would require OS 3.5 and most recent PFS from Aminet or AmiKit and PFS introduced in you WinUAE by utilizing Hard circle document, not simply launch document to run imitating. Peruse somewhat more about cutting edge UAE settings (or just purchase AmiKit X or use AmiKit free)

Those EMUTOS and so on are FAT16 parcels accordingly observed, and they are utilized for Atari copying. Your Vampire is likewise "quickest Atari without Atari chipset" (restricting it to FreeMINT applications).

Peruse more in this fora or essentially look for FreeMINT and ATARI. You will be somewhat astounded.

You can resolve your enrollment independently by reaching Renaud Schweingruber. When you do it, sooner you will have the option to get new center update in shading.

Other alternative is to return to CORE 2.5, and AmigaOS 3.1+SAGA driver pack to appreciate world in shading. Notwithstanding, since GOLD3 is coming, its better to enroll.

It is not necessary to have OS 3.5 or PFS installed on the system, once extracted the disk image as mentioned above by "Michael MiB", it can be booted directly, or mounted as a Slave on another Amiga system also OS 3.1.

AmikitX is now free
