Interest In 3.X Version of My Distribution?

Based on 3.X kickstarts

Same desktop of course I use for Aros Vision
based on 3.1 installation with P96 (by user) and offering a lha archive with installation script.

Network is done with Roadshow but there I will try to get a permission

Is there interest for that in the vampire community?

I would say yes.  When I get my V4 standalone, will be wanting to try out all the operating system options for it.

Would be nice to test on my V2.1

So If I understand this properly, this would run off a base install of 3.1 and install via a script?

If so, sounds like it would be a less controversial to some that see coffin as shady.

yes that is the idea...

  I would keep it like it is basically of course so not a huge software base like CoffinOS

Are you referring to that crazy flamewar (locked thread) on EAB from ~2 days ago ?

I'm still trying to wrap my head around the various OS and their distribution legalities (it's still confusing to me).

So, from a user standpoint, what is the best advantage of this distribution compared to the AROS I got with my V4 ?

At this point I welcome all AROS based distro's for V4. I was wondering if it wouldn't be more effective if all AROS experts within Vampire community focus on one Vampire AROS distro. Or are there benefits in having several distro's with different approaches?

From what I understand the advantage is the look and feel of the original OS3.1.  I suspect many will like this.

Yes from me

* Would this support 3.1.4
* Which version of P96.
* Roadshow i would install the demo version

I do not have 3.1.4 (just 3.1)

there I would test it. The structure of 3.1.4 is hopefully the same as in 3.1. Perhaps users of 3.1.4 could test it when ready.

P96
The version from aminet

And yes demo version of roadshow (after asking, propably ok in any case but it is to respect the developer)

it is basically imitating look and feel of 3.1 using magellan

of course I would add vampire specific components so that it works out of the box

Sounds like a really good idea.
