Thanks Cotter!!

I think this is a very honest status report.
I like very much that you so clearly show what works.

We can clearly see that Booting AROS on AMIGA/Vampire works fine.
We see also that running all those nice AMIGA games works perfectly.

But we see also that AROS has some small glitches like colors are not always resetted after running a game, or the text one time when scrolling in window was not good.

But this is good with such good reports I think we can find and fix those small issues soon and then have a great system.

we still dont have solution for aros booting on v2, atleast on a600. but that may not be a priority right now. a number of these issues are small but long standing glitches, that definitely reflect negatively on system usage.

Never underestimate how much you can suddenly get done in the week before a deadline! :)

actually the progress on aros is currently rather slow when compared to the periods of high activity.

Well, that is true but also show a quite mature system where there not that much to fix or being worked on. Not saying we are up to date with modern features of operating systems but regarding classic Amiga compatiblety.

Sure Wawa. It is always good to know what is missing regarding compatibility to Amiga OS 3.1
I know I said it will be difficult to use AROS roms with already installed Amiga systems and run some software and I think it is important to inform everyone about this.
Even different Amiga OS versions regarding hardware, roms and workbench got compatibility issues.
Following AROS for a long time I know the OS matured in the way that it became stable to use and feel quite robust. On top of that it got a lot of features that Amiga OS 3.1 does not have. I like AROS more than Amiga OS 3.1 but sure need to work with most classic software.

Maybe it could even be good to name system files from classic wb 3.1 that could be installed, replaced to bring up compatibility?

Good idea! Some people (like myself) have OS 3.1 files (ie. from AmigaForever) and really wish to try out (and use) AROS with V4SA.

What might be also a nice feature: a script taking an AROS folder which populates it with the missing / alpha OS 3.1 components, given OS 3.1 source.

Something which reminds me of the installers like AmiKit, AmigaSYS, ClassicWB etc.
