Its just for the team now, however 2.7 core seems to be first that will be for v4. After that core is out, it might go presale/public if quantities are ready and team decides not to wait until core 3.

For standalone, core 3 is an absolute necessity.

But shows light on the road towards V4s in this 2017 and coming 2018.

Hi, Apollo Team...

I follow your amazing and fabulous progress with attention. I count the hours to acquire a V4 as soon as possible!

What is certain in the rumor that the Core V3 is going to suffer a considerable delay of the anticipated dates?
I was able to listen it last night in a Spanish vidcast ...

I cant give you an answer because I am NOT in team, and even havent listen last Amiten (even I like the Spanglish show) but I am gonna do now :-)

All I can say is that October report said that 2.7 core will be released for v4 which is indicative enough that core 3 will take some additional time.

So I really dont expect it before "standalone time" which is Q1 2018. I know beside standalone core 3 is very important to all as new baseline, but then again I understand reimplementing AGA with no actual info is a tough job. Plus making it way faster and with new sound chip and all outpout to DHMI ... quite a lot of features.

Also, as with AMMX2, if drivers supplied with Vampire dont support it, its pointless. So its both software and hardware job that needs to be done, like "doing the Vampire again".

P.S. is it episode 171 of AmiKit real (again) on Vamp
  or even newer (172,173?)

No, Vojin...

I'm afraid you're completely confused about the origin of vidcast ...

There are several vidcast about 'Retro' from Spain with more influential than Amiten. In my humble opinion, better in relation to the content and influence than Amiten.

Vidcasts with more and better audience that closely follow the news about the Vampire. Something I personally appreciate very much.

That is why I am interested in this question that I personally would like to know about the rumor of V3.

Don´t get me wrong. I am completely delighted with the work of Apollo Team. Team whose work I consider to be the most important project of the Amiga community today.

Interesting, where this "vidcasts" are avail, and are they at least in Spanglish, or Spanish only?

Since "monthly report" is only official info we have, we can say it is "in the works". How long till the end, we all need to get 2.7 and play with it, while the rest is done.

Good news is "it must be done" since Standalone is basically dependable on GOLD3 core (so we dont confuse it with Vampire model numbering).

Dont forget that all V4s also include USB and LAN, so these drivers also needs to be included in expanded SAGA drivers. Last but not least is SD Card boot. Looks like toughest job since creation of Vampire v2 and first SILVER and GOLD cores ...

  In short:

  - New higher quapacity FPGA meaning more to come in future
  - Higher caches and CPU freq resulting in about +20% CPU perf. boost
  - Apollo hard FPU - finally faster then any before
  - 512MB fast DDR3 RAM soldered
  - Dual Kickstart safeguard
  - USB and LAN
  - 2x Fast EIDE ports
  - Standalone version with DB9 ports
  - A1200, CD32, A3000/4000 versions planned
  - Expansion ports

  - Shared with v2 when GOLD3 core is out: real SAGA arhitecture - all chips implemented, and faster. New sound chip 16-bit 44Khz. MapROM function of MMU - loading any kickstart or ROM and 4MB Chip in FAST RAM!

Hi Vojin,

The standalone Vampire 4 should be able to do even 256 Megs Chip/256 Megs Fast!!!!

To give some information

Both V2 and V4 will be produced and continued at the same time.

V2 integer performance outruns easily any existing 680x0 CPU card, including 68060 cards. For the V2 we can offer FEMU / Enhanced FEMU as FPU.
We see here today 68040 levels of FPU performance,
so its more than good enough for existing software.

V4 uses a bigger and significant more expensive FPGA
Therefore V4 cards is also more expensive.

We see the V2 as "best bang for the buck"
and see the V4 as high-end solution with 512 MB ram.

Both cards will be supported with CORE updates also in the future.
Both cards outrun any other accelerator for AMIGA.

Hi Gunnar

Is there a ball park price for the v4 yet ..

Will the stand alone and classic Amiga version be released at a similar time

Then any GOLD3 Vamp could do similar, but I have seen just 4MB Chip displayed. While more is good, even x2 is great, esp. Pamela can store samples in fast RAM.

I thought the architetural limit was 8MB of chip RAM? At least thats the maximum UAE allows you.

That is a UAE problem. Back with the Natami-mx showed 128 mb Chip. So should be possible but not relay needed i guess.

Just curious on the source of the A1200 expansion slot edge connectors. I hope it is not the same as what Jens has been using lately. I've read some complaints about those. There's even mention of having to "adjust" the position of the card in the icomp product wiki.
