Hopefully the fake scanlines can be enabled/disabled by the time gold3 is out..

I haven't been able to get a definitive answer ..

  This is very simple
  a) You run either video with your old OCS/ECS chipset.

  b) You run the display over SAGA
  - Here you can play AGA games.
  - Here you can use Scanlines and 50Hz mode on LCD for high quality representation on games looking like on an CRT
  - Here you have much more speed = factor x100

Thank you for your reply. Unfortunately my question still hasnt been answered: Will the Vampires own blitter be used instead of the mainboard blitter if I am using the ECS chipset to output video through RGB port? Can the Vampire completely bypass Amiga's own blitter with the Vampire blitter no matter what chipset is used?

Actually I did answer. :)

If you use AMIGA ECS chipset then you also use AMIGA ECS Blitter.

If you use DIGITAL-VIDEO output, then you use SAGA Blitter.

Any thoughts why the game runs at double speed?

The game runs in TURBO mode.
See the TOP left corner.

Ok. I'll shut up. :) But how is the framerate at normal mode then? That's what interests me.

It's locked to somewhere ~15fps by the game.

Yes - better spend your time to do something for Amiga!

Lol. You are now talking to a person that actively codes asm on my new vampire and are experiencing with ammx. I would love to contribute, but don't have the capability to commit my life to it.

I even gave you an exe with a demoeffect I coded some days ago. I guess you haven't tested it. ;)

So YOU get it together. This is surely not fun for you anymore.

Thank you for making that clearer. So the question that needs to be asked is this:

If ECS RGB users are unable to use the  SAGA Blitter and turtle mode is being removed from CORE 3 what options are available to ECS users to help improve compatibility with games?

This is a misunderstanding.
Turtle-mode is available - but it can be turned off.

Kioea by Mad Wizards (AGA/FPU-Demo)

Tested on an Amiga 600 with the Vampire 600 V2 GOLD3 Beta + SAGA/SoftFPU. Audio and video are played through DIGITAL-VIDEO. Do not place too much expectations on Software Floating Point Unit speed. It just allows FPU software to work, speed is irrelevant like with the 68k software FPU 3.06 for MAC.

@ Simo
Very Impressive! I thought that SoftFPU could work only for software "os friendly". I think that with a bit of code optimization and the support from Gunnar we all will be amazed of what this SoftFPU will do..

The SoftFPU will work for all Software like a HardFPU.
Also OS unfriendly games/demos will work.

It's fantastic news for me.The 060 demos can then be a very good benchmark for the SoftFPU in terms of optimization of his code and speed. Let's hope all the speculation about "lack of FPU" will stop now.
Thanks Gunnar
