Do all games have to be configured to run through hdmi or once this feature is in place all will automatically display there?

This is all automatic.

Here is a couple more of WHDLoad games which will benefit of no Turtle Mode. Audio and video comes through DIGITAL-VIDEO.

Awesome..

Can you also test Stunt Car Racer? :)

Is there any benefit vs RTG version?

Don't know, but would like to and figured it would be a different type of test.  Not a FPS type test but, rather how to handle all the graphics (gif, jpeg, etc) on web pages.

Thanks.. framerate seems very smooth, but look at the clock. It is running at ~double speed comparing to when running on ocs. the game is running faster than normal, it seems. Is it supposed to be like that for some reason? My head is still not completely wrapped around this yet.

  Cheers

4D Sports Driving please. It always run at low framerate on Amiga (vs PC version).

Can someone please clarify due to discussion somewhere else:

Will future cores inhibit the use of mainboard sound and video chipset and use its own exclusively (DIGITAL-VIDEO), or will it be possible to select either one or the other by selection in early startup menu or perhaps a CLI tool?

Thanks.

Hello Jorn Rune,

Welcome to the forum!
I'm little bit surprised by this question as I think the answers goes without saying.

The user can of course choose which way he likes.
Of course some "combinations" are not possible.
E.g. You can not have 4 MB chipmem expansion and video over old AMIGA plug at the same time.

I also initially thought this was obvious, and user selectable,
but I may have been somewhat misled by posts on other forum.

Anyway, that means you can continue to use RGB (or Indivision) video output in the context where this would be the preferred solution for some, which is good news.

Could it be that people post "claims" without knowledge and understanding of this project?

Great progress.

Please can I have my GOLD 3!

Come on give us an ETA. How many show stoppers are you still ironing out? How close are you to release - 1 day, 1 week...

You want them to release too early and then some will complain about problems.

I'll bet it's hard to wait for Christmas too :)

The reason scr was interesting to test was because I thought of this thread: EXTERNAL LINK
Any thoughts why the game runs at double speed?

Can one have dual monitor video output?

For instance, different output on the A600/500/1000/2000/1200 from what is being sent through to the DIGITAL-VIDEO???

How about audio?

Stereo on the DIGITAL-VIDEO and additional different audio from the RCA jacks on the Amiga that the Vampire is inside of??? Which could give "surround sound"?

I think I could say with confidence, there isn't software that does that, NOW, but could it be written in the future?

The standalone will be "surround sound" capable?

If gold3 does not contain Turtle Mode, what can be done for games/apps that currently are not in WDHLOAD?

The problems caused by too fast CPUs are usually caused by the CPU finishing too early and the blitter still being busy but the CPU not checking and waiting for it. Gold3 has total control over the blitter as it becomes part of the same chip as the CPU. Thus, it is possible to not allow the CPU to start the next blitjob before the preceding one is done. This also means that there is hardly any need for slowing down the CPU and hence no need for the turtle mode.

I haven't been able to get a definitive answer on this yet as there seems to be a lot of speculation, but I wanted to find out if the Vampire 600 V2's own blitter will still be used in CORE 3 if I output the video through the A600's RGB port to my CRT TV. I won't be using DIGITAL-VIDEO anytime soon with it due to various reasons that I won't go into but still hoping that RGB port won't be rendered useless.

Sorry for the seemingly dumb questions, but I need to get it clear in my mind.

This is very simple
a) You run either video with your old OCS/ECS chipset.

b) You run the display over SAGA
- Here you can play AGA games.
- Here you can use Scanlines and 50Hz mode on LCD for high quality representation on games looking like on an CRT
- Here you have much more speed = factor x100
