That's brilliant, Gunnar, congrats. I can't wait to place my order on that standalone.

Nice!
This AGA and 4 MB Chipmem or more is not only for the stadanlone.
We can give this to every AMIGA out there!

No, I meant now limited to the 1mb my 500 gives me.
I look forward to your AGA and chipram improvement.

(You do mean this is the works and not available today, correct?)

This works and is available today to team members for testing for release of GOLD3

For now, until further development chip ram is still important.
I have been extensively using various graphic programs like personal paint, xipaint.
You start editing an image of any size and memory warnings start right away. It has little to do with the 128mb ram included since I believe even in RTG it is using the limited chipram, which in an Amiga 500 with vampire is very limited.

Well I hope the Apollo team has fixes planned for that limitation, I agree with you a 512k chip ram A500 would be rather limiting.

    Which limitation?
You saw that we can give you today 4 MB chipmem?
And if this is not enough then I can give you more, up to 128 MB if you want

Was referring to my amiga's factory 512kb motherboard limitation..

HA no.. i'm very happy to get 4mb vs my original A500s 512kb !!.. 4mb will work for me for the time being.. but its nice to know it can scale further when I am ready!

Quite impressive.
Btw, would it be possibile for you, Niclas, to post the whole results page so we can peek also at other values? ;)

I would propose to compare PLANA with PLANA  and chunky with chunky.

Some of the function are more costly in PLANA mode.
So doing them in PLANA will score lower by design.
As SAGA support both format it makes sense to pick the right mode.

Maybe someone likes to post a screenshot of his AGA scores?
To compare PLANA with PLANA

Yes, the MC68060 Rev6 is a little bit overclocked.

Out of curiosity: how fast is it clocked?

Core: 124MHz. CSMKII card logic is clocked at 1/2 clock.
Unfortunately this is as high as she goes without very fancy cooling, whereas the Apollo is probably at stock speed and quiet and not fully optimized yet :)

Good to know, they perform more or less the same and it's an excellent performance. Thanx for your sharing

124 Mhz, I would not say that this is 'a little bit' overclocking :-)

Hmmm,
2 mins, 6 secs; 124 MHz 68060, using an FPU

EXTERNAL LINK  2 mins, 13 secs; 68080, no FPU (I think), DDR2 (time at 3 minute mark in video)

Not sure what to make of that. I hope that the 68080 isn't using an FPU. If it isn't, the 68080 may be nearly as fast as a 68060 of 160 MHz!

It is clearly stated that the Cinema 4D version used is the NO FPU one

Shows that Sysinfo is fairly accurate!

The problem with the high overclock of the CSMKII 68060 is that the Ram cannot keep up. And this is were the Apollo core really seems to bring a lot of speed and short reaction times in applications that need to access the Ram a lot. If I understood Gunnar correctly, he is trying to see if the SAGA in AGA mode is slowing down the 68080 due to the shared memory architecture.
