as you see i cant fix much myself, my programming experience is lesser than the vast number if not majority of people in amiga scene.

At least you are interesting and looking to it. I am in that minority that only used hex editors to cheat  games >:-)

Wawa seems to managed to solve the boot problem on vampire so Aros boots now

RTG works too?

Then I could try to make a special aros vision for vampire

I do not deserve thanks here (it was Wawa and the developers that helped him)

but I become interested in doing a special version of my distribution for it

While I do understand its not currently possible to optimize the distro, what is a chance some of the Vamp related tools and software included in ApolloOS works on AROS? (with blessing of contributors, surely).

On sidenote, Apollo is also evil mainframe in Alien Isolation

it depends if those tools use OS calls and if those OS calls are implemented full compatible or not. Many are, some are not. If the tool directly accesses the hardware it should work without problems.

Ages, time for another "compatibility list" to do :-)

bah, it was iprefs i have disabled, but now its hit and miss that it actually displays rtg screen. the mouse cursor flickers and lags a lot though, as if it was blitted in software mode or something constantly interrupting it.

Despite some kinks in the hose to sort out, this is wonderful progress.

If it was a big bug or small bug, does not matter. its a huge step forward which most users cannot make for themselves to work.

If we can start using AROS + Workbench hybrid, with AROS code updating things then it'll be great if things can move towards full use of hyper-threading so we can one day upgrade to multi-core system someday.

Fingers crossed the ARIX experiment goes well and then AROS VM container on top for the 90% software which is allergic to multi-core :-)

Hit and miss?

I think the driver has options for a hardware mouse pointer or a software mouse pointer.

"Arix" will be nice to see but RPi native version will be even more interesting ;)

but that is a different discussion

yes. aros boots fine all the way each time, according to serial output, but time to time the desktop doesnt appear on rtg, nevertheless.

what concerns aros for amiga/vampire, whoever wants to try our work in progress might search the following link for latest build:
