really nice!

just tested it in uae, works fine with os3.x, on aros it doesnt want to load the .fpcres file, which is free pascal resource i take it? slowly someone needs to start to look after aros compatibility being properly kept, while all these changes taking place there.. sigh..

That was TERRIFIC!

And, it's going to get faster too.

Really didn't seem that slow. It looks like it's in a usable state.

Although, I've never heard of it or seen it work before.

Nope, thats a different version MUIMapparium vs. Mapparium

Mapparium is much too slow to on a real Amiga, because of the LCL Wrapper and it needs a FPU, so also not usable with Vampire.

MUIMapparium is a complete new approach for Mapparium with native MUI GUI and own drawing routine to work around some nasty bugs in Mapparium and learn how MUI is working to improve LCL later, hopefully. It's just a start, only very basic things implemented, more like a playground, but works nicely for me.

if someone want to try, it'a available for m68k-Amiga, i386-AROS, arm-AROS, PowerPC-MorphOS:

ah sorry, was so baffed, have not even noticed.
could you help me find out why it doesnt start on aros68k? do you have any debug in place you could enable and provide with a 68k binary?

Tried it, works really nice on vampire, even the speed of downloading the maps and decoding the images is very acceptable.

just drop in to mention that aros has been fixed and mapparium along other amiga apps that have suffered while smp implementation work on 68k again. ;)

@Wawa:

Thanks for the notice, what happens to be the problem?

P.S. I know how it is meant, but 68k SMP implementation, holy cow :-P that would be a step forward ;-), don't mind my noise, I know it's only x64-AROS sharing source. But that reminds me that MUIMapparium does not work on AROS64, I should check that again.

EXTERNAL LINK    a change commited few weeks ago had to be reverted for non smp systems. it has broken a lot of amiga software, but not all, therefore it went through for so long. took me three nights to fed that trace to nick. ;)

im not sure this is feasible. as you see smp conflicts with compatibility after all. just as it was always told. aros on non amiga platforms doesnt need to strictly maintain any binary compatibility due to limited software base, thats an advantage in this case. but on amiga-m68k it is an actual measurable reference. thats why it likely wont ever get introduced on ppc-ng platforms, at least not without a severe handicap.

  but lets see.

what concerns mapparium, the fix wont change anything for 64 bit as it is platform specific.
