Workbook is AROS 68k minimalistic desktop. Today its usability is quite limited. This bounty aims at extending the available functions to become a replacement of Workbench as found in AmigaOS 3.1

Bounty will be completed when these functionalities are available in Workbook:

    Support standard .info files
Manually position & snapshot icons and windows
Drag & drop icons to copy/move
    Make new directories
    Delete files & directories
    Rename files & directories
    View/edit file information/tooltypes
    Leave out/put away
Make Show All Files/Show Only Icons work as per description

This functionality needs to be available in the ROM version of Workbook, that is
booting a disk only containing LoadWB command will allow usage of Workbook with
these functionalities.

Additionally the following functionalities can be added at the discretion of the developer:

    Support for ToolMenu
List-view mode (view + manage files as in icon mode)

These functionalities are not required to mark bounty as completed.

Is Dopus 5 not available for AROS ?
Why not just make that default.

Dopus 5 takes like 600 kb of memory and then you get all the above and more.

Yes its not in ROM but why is that a goal ? isnt AROS kickrom using the whole extended rom already ?

I do not know why but there are a lot of people preferring something near the workbench. Also requirements for a updated Workbook are lower than for Wanderer or Magellan. I personal am working on a distribution between this low-spec solution and my big distribution that also uses Magellan but emulates 3.1.

Sure a lean version is nice. But who in there right mind use only WB 3.1 and nothing else ? And as i said. Dopus is not that big memory hog. I just tried to install Magellan on a clean WB 3.1 in workbench replacement mode. And it is around my estimate. 600kb used after boot. Maybe there is some setting to lower this even further.

personally i would prefer scalos, which im trying to achieve, i tried magellan, but it doesnt work like workbench very much and the new version has some delay when reading the content of the directory which isnt visible much on aos but on aros. on emight pursue this, but i put it on hold for some time for different reasons, but whoever likes to experiment with it and help olaf is welcome.
