| 11 MB/s is not possible on the internal IDE. You can expect to get up to 5 MB/s stable read operation. With some setups you may be able to get Mord (up to 7) but then you are on your own. The good thing is that the IDE timing will be programmable from a tool so you can find your personal limit on your own.

| @Nixus Minimax: Yes it is, because this on Vampire 500, it has it's own internal IDE on the card.

I think what Nixus meant was the internal IDE of an A600.

| The V600 also has micro-SD card slot, I would expect it to eliminate the need of using the IDE port on the motherboard at some point.

| 7+ mbps on the A600 IDE is incredible. And that's even without tweaking the SCSI.device. I'm sure some improvement can be made there too, perhaps a couple more mbps.. I'd just like to know if this will be released as an update on its own soon, or held back for next Gold3 core?

| What are the factors for getting above 5MB. I'm using Lycom ST-173-7 mSATA SSD to 2.5" IDE (http://www.lycom.com.tw/ST-173-7.htm) which on paper is not going to a blocker
