| Speedup of original A600 IDE Hardware. To improve the performance of our V600 users we work on getting the maximum possible out of your original AMIGA. NO extra hardware is needed for this! Apollo 68080 will give your original chipset a significant speedup. This IDE speedup and our new MDMA feature will allow you to play videos much smoother from your HD/CF

True. I think no one from community think it's possible. 30 years of creating addictional hardware for Amiga and no one before did it. What can I say? It's unbeliveble work and, somehow, I think it's not over yet :) Another big surprise BigGun :)

| Amazing. I wouldn't have imagined it that fast on the SCSI.device. That's faster than my FastATA mk1 on the A1200. Will this be a addition candidate for Gold3?

| Cool! Did you have to modify the scsi.device to achieve this? Will the A1200 internal IDE get similar speedup with Vampire 1200?

No this is with normal SCSI device. This improvement is purely done with optimised protocol of Apollo. But you are correct - the AMIGA OS SCSI device has some room for improvement. So I would not be surprised to see a little more speed when tweaking SCSI device a little. We have done this so far only on A600. And its very likely that the same benefit will be reached on A1200. On the other hand on the V1200 we have our own IDE controller which can by design > 13 MB/sec With tuned SCSI device we should actually reach even much more.

| Hi Gunnar. I remember something called SpeedyIDE that gave the A1200/600 almost another 1mbps boost. I used to include it in my Blizzard rom remap when I used the original IDE port without IDE-Fix or FastATA. Might be worth seeing what SeedyIDE actually did....
