| I can see new Firebird still has physical ports for ETH, USB, H_D_M_I and SD on the main PCB instead to have a clean solution based on flat cables to move them on the Amiga chassis, any reason behind that choice?

| Might be easier just to run extensions if needed, rather than having propriety connectors and cables.

Thank you for the answer, the reason for the question is that I like clean solutions, and I really don’t like the idea of seeing an Amiga with typical PC cable management. Rather than using proprietary solutions, I was thinking of the use of fairly common connectors such as those below that would have made even the installation cleaner without a tangle of cables, extensions and floating connectors in the case: EXTERNAL LINK EXTERNAL LINK

| I don't see why you need to overly complicate it, for every one person that would like to see it your way there will likely be much more that are upset they have to buy some bizarre flat connector instead of buying a standard easily sourced extension cable.

| You can easily use flat or ribbon cables with the existing standard ports so I don't see what the issue is. I know that some Amiga users don't like to hack up their A500 cases to add cutouts for extra ports, (I wouldn't want to either) and so using standard connectors on the Firebird allows those users to buy longer cables so that they can pass them out through the expansion port to the left of the machine or out through the bottom of the case.

| Very nice! On the left top corner I see a power connector, is it giving access to the mainboard power rails? or is it possible use the Firebird without an Amiga?

Yes the power connector can in theory be used to run the Firebird alone. But this is not the idea behind it. The Firebird is low power (2Watt) but in theory users could want to connect more hungry devices chained to it. E.g. hungry drives. To support the power flow for extra hungry devices you can feed additional power in there e.g. from Floppy connector

Yes, as you see on the picture it has 40pin IDE and 44pin IDE E.g. for CDrom, and for CF/Drive

I assume this is two separate buses too?

Yes this is 2 channel. This allows you to connect e.g. CDROM on 40pin and independent from this a CF drive on 44pin.

| This looks really super. Interlace modes will work anytime soon if I don't want to use RTG? Can't wait to try it in my A500++, it's just finished and works perfectly.
