| I dont think this has really been mentioned... So, just to clarify the Firebird<>Icedrake differences: Are we talking just a 7<>14 Mhz system/Chip bus difference, or is there any other differences, apart from no AGA out of the analog RGB port? As the AGA support is finally in the A500 too now along with everything else I cant really tell what the advantage would be now of a 1200 over an A500 (especially something like an A500+ ECS system).

| I have an old A500 version 3 or 4 something. :-) It have been modified to take 1Mb chip ram. Will a Firbird work on my old Amiga. I can therefor not remove the kickstart chip, not sure if this is nessesary. But then it would have been so fun to get the old Amiga up and running with the new Firebird.

Yes, the Firebird work fine in old A500.

| So Gunnar, is there any advantage from having an A1200 with these cards? Will an A500 with one of these cards be the same?

| @Antony Coello, In default Accelerator mode it will still use the Amiga's custom chips and chip ram, so it will have the benefits of having the more advanced hardware on the A1200. The A500 will have to be set to a different mode that bypasses a bit of the custom chips to do AGA or have more chipram than what shipped with the A500. I'll likely screw up the fine details, but this is generally the gist of it.

| Thanks @Roy. So basically what the GOLD v3 core for the v2 cards would have been? (Transferring any non existant AGA functionality onto the FPGA).

| Does the IceDrake block the use of the Amiga CD1200?
