| Dear loyal customers, here is an update on the Raptor. As we announced, the Raptor is intended to be an alternative to entry-level cards for the Amiga 1200, but without sacrificing the power offered by the 68080. It is a card based on the design of the V1200 but which offers the essential: the now famous 68080 and 128MB of RAM. This card designed by Igor is finalized. Currently, the team is waiting for Igor to send us a final batch in order to validate by intensive tests all the functionalities that you are entitled to expect. We will keep you informed as soon as we are in possession of the cards, so that you can discover it in more detail.

| I already have Jen's scan doubler in my 1200 so the Raptor would be about perfect for the speed boost etc. as of now I have the aca 1232 in it but still seems sluggish. Hope price comes in around the price point mentioned earlier.

| With the Raptor we produce a "Pure Accelerator Card" and our goal was to sell it for 250 €uro +/- The sales price of course depends on the production costs. In the moment it seems that we have to take the production from Bosnien to Germany and that might raise the price a bit. But we assume that we will not exceed the price of 300 Euro. Sorry that we can't be more precise and faster at this point ... as is so often in life, some things take longer than you/ we would like :-). As soon as we have facts and can calculate the price, we will keep you informed!

| Raptor might be in my Amiga 1200's feature. On that little computer I have been rocking a Microbotics 50mhz 68030 board with FPU since circa 1993 or 94. Time for an upgrade? :) My 1200 also has an Indivision AGA Mark I board that is perfect for me, as well as IDE to CF card adapter and a ethernet adapter on the PCMCIA port. Raptor, you could be going in and dear old Microbotics coming out after decades.

| This is very interesting. AGA has more speed then the OCS, and already have hdmi out and a better resolution/color on the desktop. Can make it the idial gaming machine. No need to swap inputs. But not all games run on the vampire (yet) even in turtle mode. Most times it seems that the game (or demo) isnt 'properly' written. Just an idea unhindered by any knowledge of how complicated this is... Wouldnt it be possible to turn the accelerator off for cases like this?

Are you talking about through something like the Indivision AGA? I ask because I don’t think the Raptor will have hdmi out.

You are right, the waiting time for the V1200 is a major problem. The Apollo-Team also sees this and we highly regret that our fans need to wait so long. Being aware of the problems the Apollo-team of course tried a lot to support Igor as good as possible and help him together with the soldering by a professional company. Our goal was that all Vampires card should be on stock, and that people should have zero waiting time. Just like you have zero waiting time today when buying a V4-Standalone. Unfortunately we get no informations from Igor at the moment about production and waiting time. We are really sorry here, this lies only in Igors control.
