They were ~ $700+ USD back in October, ~ $650 in November, $500 in December..  guess we have a few more months before they're priced around the 300EU (~ $300-350 USD) they're listed at :).

(I want one but trying to figure out the best path to get my A500 to 2MB chip ram first, otherwise I'll wait for V1200).

I put my name down for a V600 back in July \ August and i think i was around 550 -590 in the queue. Still waiting but production has been increased.

I do think it would be nice if there was a ball park guide to which batch you are likely to be in

How many paths are there to 2mb chipram?
Isn't there a megachip solution only?

No. If You have rev 8 (a500+ board) just need to change memory chips, configure some jumps and make RTAS fix. If Rev 6, need to change 8372A chip to 8375 and do same things like for rev. 8

I have not yet read of a V500 time frame. (I was surprised enough when the interest in the V500 list was created before 2017.)

At EXTERNAL LINK Majsta wrote that he will be building Vampires by himself! We will see what happens. (The date of the post was November.)

And yes, the V500 packaging looks awesome.

For the newbies....

* At orders.apollo-accelerators.com I remember seeing over 1,000 interested in the V600 before the V500 was added.

* Currently V600s are produced in batches of 100 at a board house

* For each V600, kipper2k does 7 minutes of work then tests the Vampire for an hour

* When a V600 is available, kipper2k sends the request for payment

* Kipper2k had surgery on his left hand in December

* See EXTERNAL LINK which has V600 order updates

* Majsta has been selling V500s one at a time on eBay to help raise funds for future projects. The currently known expensive project is a source of A1200 expansion connectors; this will require new tooling (likely to cost thousands of US dollars/Euros).

* Matsta's web site EXTERNAL LINK includes the history of his Vampire project

That Kippa insured his hand is bad - otherwise the V600 orders would be done and shipped all by now.

The V500 production is ramping up now.
So far about 100 V500 were shipped.
We plan for producing 200 per month.

Please mind that the website does _NOT_ deduct already send cards.
This means many of those got their cards already.

The wait time should soon be in range of weeks only.
