Hi, I am flash the last days the last Apolo OSs on my CF adaptor and SD card adaptor. But I can not use both adaptors on the V500+ accelerator at the same time on one cable. But it runs fine under Amiga OS 3.1.4 and 3.9. The SD adaptor is running and the second, the CF adaptor, makes at the same time errors when the V500+ boots. In the HDToolbox is the SD adaptor whhite and the CF card adaptor black. I can not make partitions. on the CF card adaptor. And when I use my Octagon A508 with his SCSI controller and a HDD at the same time, I have the same problems. I have test it with an IDE SSD too. The problems are the same. But under Amiga OS 3.1.4 and 3.9 runs this combinations are  very fine. The SD card adaptor on the V500+ accelerator is not the problem, only the adaptors and the SSD on the IDE cable.

Hello, the version published today (ApolloOS_16GbF5C_1509.7z) has not brought any changes (see post from 14.09.2020). It is frustrating.

If I understand you correctly than you have a very brave setup on your IDE.
Did I understand it right that you have on the IDE,
an IDEtoCF adapter plus in CF card as one device
and in addition to this an IDE to SDCard adapter with SDcard?

Maybe you not knew this but in the IDE spec its clearly recommended
to run CF cards always alone on the IDE - and never have 2 devices connected.
So your setup is a little "risky" at least.

You also have to know that AROS IDE code is not perfect.
AROS IDE actually never worked reliable on all AMIGA.
This improved recently after we fixed some stuff but there is still a lot room for improvement.

Rewriting the whole AROS IDE code might needed in the future.

Please mind that there are many different IDE-CF adaptors of variant quality. Some of them are slower.
AROS is very picky with CF-IDE adapters and will not work with some.

Hello, thank you very much for the information.

Yeah, you got it right.

I want to use the following combination under Apoolo OS because the V500 + accalarator can boot from it:

1.) I would like to use the IDE to SDCard adapter with SDcard as a removable drive (e.g. for installation or for data exchange).

2.) The IDEtoCF adapter plus in CF card or an IDE SSD as hard disk for the installed operating system (Apollo OS).

3.) Because the SDCard adapter is located directly on the V500 + accalarator and cannot be started. Unfortunately, it is of no great use to me at the moment. As a removable drive as well, because I can't get to it when the Amiga 500 is closed.

4.) I didn't know that you should always use CF cards alone.

6.) So it is probably better if I use the following combination: Use an IDE SSD as a hard drive for the installed operating system (Apollo OS) and the IDE to SDCard adapter with SDcard as a removable drive (e.g. for installing or exchanging data )?

5.) I would also be happy to help you with testing, but then I will certainly need a contact (email) from a developer for the hardware.

Are you on our live online support channel?
If you are then could you send me a quick picture of your Adapters?

No, what must I do? - I can not find your live online support channel!

Yes, I can take a picture but how can I send it to you?
How can I save it to the forum so you can see it?

It is working. You don't have to compile anything. Just load the image and write it to a CF card.

Here is a premade image. Link is from Discord.

    EXTERNAL LINK
Of course you need to have the correct V4SA Core. Check the Wiki.

This is an unusable link: ApolloOS_16GbF6A_1809.7z.tmp
It's a tmp file (32 Bytes).

Hi, I have image my SD card on my SD adaptor with this unpacked file ApolloOS_16GbF6B_2109.7z.
I can see only the Early Apollo OS Boot Screen on my PAL monitor.
When it boots onto a partition the DIGITAL-VIDEO monitor goes off.
It stops.
I see only a gray screen without information on my PAL monitor.
That's all.

This funky behavior I have sometimes also on the A1200/A2000
Usually a Keyb reset permits it to boot to WB

Yes, that's right if I use AROS or an AROS based customized version (e.g. Apllo OS). But I don't have that with Amiga OS. But this time that doesn't help either.
I think the IDE ATA driver is the problem.
