I have the same problem of Mark Mc Fadden, no DIGITAL-VIDEO output from V1200 ide with the new core.

On the A1200 ide when I esc from any whdload game the sysm go down (not freeze but any command or mouse click response).

I have an Escom A1200 1.D4 revision motherboard, recapped and used with A500 4.5A power supply.

Also with all cores in beta test I had the same issue

When you powerup without any devices (no CF cards, floppy) can you see a batlogo from hdmi?

Yes, but also with CF inserted; batlogo appears when I have CF connected to V1200 ide, and CF start to load; after the second attempt of loading (I suppose after the kickstart of V1200 is loaded) the system stop to load.

Same thing on the A1200 ide, I lost the DIGITAL-VIDEO signal after the second reboot but CF continues to load and after few seconds Coffin appears on the monitor.

Do you mean that Coffin RTG modes does not work for you from hdmi?

Not from V1200 ide
Yes from A1200 ide

But on A1200 ide I have the problem with whdload, every time I load a game or a demo and I escape from whdload I turn back to Coffin but I cannot do anything, it's like whdload and the software I used still continues to work in background.

With core 7389B I don't have this problem (from V1200 ide, naturally).

Thanks, not sure why i get stuck on a black screen with R57.
Ill try a PAL screen, R56, failing that ClassicWB with RTG( with vampire driver), 040 version

It could be e.g that your tv/monitor can not show the hdmi mode where R57 boots as default.

Thanks for your help with this. Default Coffin screen res is set for tv's, this is a bad idea and on initial boot should default to the lowest common denominator i. e. Basic VGA 640x200 allowing correct selection, i.e. In the startup sequence check the same as for language etc. and allow selection and test at that time.

Anyway i resolved the issue by forcing PAL in WinUAE and using that CF card on the Vampire.
Also my PCMCIA is working, excellent.

However my Indivision is not working, shows initially on power on but obviously some Vampire/Coffin conflict.
I know there's an indivision patch but from the readme it doesnt wotk(the path is wrong based on the installer but correcting that complains about not being the correct version to patch).

Note: My indivision config hasnt changed since i set it up with my blizzard 030 classic WB. I can see native AGA modes on CRT via scart but not on monitor via Indivision( but see Ondivision logo on power on).

Ill investigate further, but if i get this working ill be the happiest Amiga 1200 user on the planet :)

Again, i very much appreciate the support.

Is it normal that i can only get the indivision and native screens working( e.g. whdload games ) if the Workbench resolution is set to PAL?, i.e. it wont work if workbench is RTG, will just be a black screen on native PAL screen.
I can get it working with RTG using a CRT but not with the indivision for some reason.

Are we talking about Indivision mk2? If you are trying to get RGB and hdmi to work simultaneously at least you need to check that ENV:Picasso96/AmigaVideo is not set to 31kHz, but if you use RGB and hdmi alternately, that should work as is.

  AGA mk3: EXTERNAL LINK
  AGA mk2: EXTERNAL LINK
  ECS: EXTERNAL LINK

Thanks Simo, yes, Indivision MK2, however the link you provided for patching the indivision is for the prefs program, i.e. if Indivision is working and correctly set there is no need to use the patch. Also the patch is for the older version of the Preferences program( so will fail on the latest, and the info in the readme is incorrect as points to the incorrect path )

I had already set 15KHz mode in Picasso through the GUI, but double set it in ENV:Picasso96/AmigaVideo and still had the same black screen for native modes.

However i solved this by using 1280x720 mode in RTG and native modes work perfectly.

Can i update the wiki with this info( if so how to get access? )?

I've only tested it with coffin and V1200 2.13 RC2, but resolving the issue with booting with coffin and showing a black screen only + native screens being black( once RTG screen is working ) would surely help other users and tbh reduce a lot of the frustration as i've spend about 40 hours getting this working( and the resolution change is very simple but its beneficial if other users have a resource to resolve this/similar issues ).

Either way, i'm happy out that its all working properly now( and i can finally enjoy gaming and some productivity on my Amiga )

I thank you sincerely Simo for helping me get my V1200 up and running the way i expect it to work, you've provided fantastic support.

Hi, I just have a quick question.
With a V1200v2 and the latest core V2.13 the IDE ports of the vampire and the motherboard can be used at the same time, if I put one HDD on the vampire's idea and another on the card's IDE mother, how do i get started on the vampire IDE?
which one has priority? Do you have to go through the early startup? Is the vampire's HDD visible in the early startup?
thanks a lot.

The behavior is similar to an A4000T that also has two hard disk controllers (SCSI + IDE). In our case, we have two IDE controllers.

The boot order depends on the partition priority stored in the hard disk. If the highest partition priorities are equal in the both IDE controllers, hard disk in motherboard IDE controller will boot the first.

Note that VDH0: partition priority has been lowered to -1 with the HDToolBox, so DH0: with the higher priority will always boot first, no matter in which IDE controller its CF-Card is put.

PCMCIA port works as well.

finally I have this core running on my V1200.... and Lightwave 5 FP is crashing for me doing renders.

I forced LW to use RTG mode, loaded a scene and hit render. Just 1 second or two and....... I need restart my amiga. It will freeze.

I will try tomorrow using Amiga screen mode, just in case is that the issue. Core 2.12 is working great with LW.FP on my V500

v1200

Oki Simo, it has been a long test, a lot of hours and a lot of Cores changed just to be sure and support you guys for all the hard work. So using the latest beta core 2.13 LightwaveFP crash on RTG mode forced with ModePRO once you hit render. I was using a clean installation from a friend.

Using CoffinOS 57 it crash on RTG and PAL, so doesnt matter. I did notice that reinstalling Picasso libraries from Aminet, they are different from CoffinOS version.

In PAL or NTSC mode, it renders fine.

My V500 on my A2500 works (Core 2.12) but same issue, RTG will crash.

After so many hours testing, I think the changes on the FPU are good. I am thinking more on the picasso libraries version, maybe is that the issue.

What do you think guys ?

by the way thanks for the FPU work. This was one of the reasons I bought my vampires :)

note: I think, it is crashing when Lightwave tries to promote the render screen where is drawing the steps.

Thanks for the effort guys. Usually these software issues are possible also to reproduce e.g. with the WinUAE.

I want to congratulate Gunnar and all the team :) Nexus 7 demos is almost bug free :) I know that i'm painful with Nexus 7 demos but for me, it's a great test for the vampire as it works on unaccelerated A1200 and was one of the best demo on stock A1200 :)
Thanks a lot for your work :)

Thanks again guys for this update.

My system: A1200 with rev. 2B motherboard and a V1200. No timing fixes. Patched KS 3.1.4 into V1200 and Amiga OS 3.1.4.1.

My experiences thus far:

I've had some issues of stability with turtle mode and when cpu cache is off.

When activating turtle mode 2 in CLI A1200 will always crash, but still saurvives the reboot as it should. After activating I will sometimes get a system crash at random times.

Connected my A1200 to a friends A1200 via serial. He also has a V1200 but is on GOLD 2.12. We played Stunt Car Racer. Turtle mode was not activated. Mine kept crashing, his was fine. Tried with and without NoCache. Went back to GOLD 2.12 and the crashes in Stunt Car Racer went away.

Havent had a real large opportunity to test as have gone back to GOLD 2.12 and dont feel like opening up my machine again to flash 2.13 back.

Thanks for the feedback. Was the Stunt Car Racer floppy or WHDLoad version?
