I have installed the latest Gold 2.12 for the V600 (once again, thanks Simo for posting the release) and I have also installed 2.0.1 SAGA drivers.

Just a question regarding VControl v1.13 that is included with it: Is it supposed to work with the V600 V2 on Gold 2.12? Some of the options do not seem to do anything anymore. "VControl TU 1" doesn't slow the A600 down despite it saying it has enabled Turtle mode and "FP 0" doesn't turn the FPU off. This is verifiable in SysInfo 4.3.

Yes FP 0 is not working, but turtle mode should work as expected with r7389B and VControl v1.13. For me SysInfo 4.3 shows it working.

Thank you for looking into it. Unfortunately, turtle mode command isn't working for me.
Without turtle mode on I get the following results in SysInfo 4.3:

Dhrystones: 134987
MIPS: 140.90
MFLOPS: 74.87

After issuing "VControl TU 1" in shell I get the following results:

Dhrystones: 135010
MIPS: 140.92
MFLOPS: 74.84

System:
A600, V600 V2 GOLD 2.12 r7389B with Kickstart 3.1.4 flashed and AOS 3.1.4.1. Picassso96 v2.4.4 and SAGA 2.0.1.

Also will the "FP" option be reinstated? In the meantime, will SAGA Driver v1.7.1 work with this latest core instead?

This could be Kickstart 3.1.4 related. Can you still control the turtle mode e.g. by disabling ICACHE from Sysinfo GUI?

If you have no any issues, sure you can also use older SAGA Drivers. I can not remember from top of my head when RTG HW mouse pointer position was fixed.

Yes I can confirm this works.

Yeah RTG mouse pointer was fixed in 1.7.1 so I might have a bit of a play with that in the meantime.

@Sean Sk. Could you please test to map 3.1.4 and FPU/Turtle with the these tools?

Hi Simo,
I downloaded GOLD 2.12 from the update page, and blasted it into my Vamp 500+, but my A1000 fails to boot with it. Rolling back to GOLD 2.11 I can boot again.
Is there perhaps some A1000 incompatiblity?
Cheers,
Tony

Hi Simo.
Thanks for the updates. They do indeed seem to work from my limited testing. Tried both flashing and mapping KS 3.1.4, then ran VControl TU and FP and everything seemed to work well. I will do more testing over the next few days.

Just one question though:
After disabling FPU, SysInfo 4.3 crashes when doing a speed test. It works fine when FPU is enabled. Is this a bug in SysInfo?

@8bit Dude, not enough information.

@Sean Sk, yes, SysInfo has an FPU bug. It can be easily reproduced e.g. with the WinUAE/EC040.

Not sure what info you need...

I have an early A1000 with daughterboard. Loading Gold 2.12 (either x11 or x12), nothing happens when I turn the power ON. No signal on either RGB or DIGITAL-VIDEO (the screen does not go blue then grey on RGB, nothing at all). The floppy does nothing either.

I could perhaps try my way through the various release candidates, in case one of them works?

I can confirm that V2+ with Core 2.12 (x12) works fine with my A1000.

Lucky you! In my case, the A1000 does not give any sign of life, the FDD does not cycle on power up, and the Caps lock key does not light up when pressed...

I tried Gold3 Alpha, and got something different: the FDD cycles, Caps Lock key light up, but no signal out of DIGITAL-VIDEO.

You might want to try make a power mod/fix to Vampire card, if it hasnít already been done.

Thanks for the suggestion. Before I do that, would it be possible to download an x10 version of Gold 2.12? That would surely tell me if the issue is just power.

Thanks for this Simo. I tested the x10 version, and it boots up correctly.

My card is Rev 2.2, and according to Majsta it already has both the power and video Fix:

So I don't know what to do next. Replace the PSU of A1000 with something more powerful? Or is it perhaps possible to release an x10 version of the Gold 2.12 and later versions?

Thanks in advance,
Tony

My fights continued :-) One more time I have updated my Vampire card with the latest core but this time i installed 2.0.1 newest SAGA driver and WOW - I have the vision :-) Not anything is allright, something is wrong with  colours but it's enough to test the 2.12 core.

You need to register the S/N of your vampire card to get colors.
