| Thanks! I'll flash it first thing in the morning. I was really hoping for a new Alpha of Gold 3. Switching monitors is a pain in the neck.

| Thank you very much for the update guys, really appreciate your hard work. Only had time to do a quick initial test of the core for the V600. Things I really liked and that worked for me: Really like the minimalist startup screen. I have a keyboard adapter from Electronika4U that plugs over the keyboard controller to allow for an external wireless keyboard. When using it with GOLD 2.11 or older the computer would freeze when trying to reset with CTRL+AMIGA+AMIGA on the external keyboard. This seems to be fixed with GOLD 2.12 so thanks very much for that. Lotus Esprit Turbo Challenge WHDLoad install works now. Things that still didn't work for me: Interphase (WHDLoad): When starting the game, still come up with the error: Exception "Line 1111 Emulator" ($2C) at $2C298 occured. This used to work with GOLD 2.5 Days of Thunder (WHDLoad): Game starts but when starting a race the game crashes out with the same error message as "Interphase" when you accelerate your vehicle. The Ultimate Race (WHDLoad): Game starts but when trying to start a race game just goes to a black screen and doesn't progress any further. Question: Are the improvements to turtle mode solely for WHDLoad games or is it designed to provide improved compatibility with games booted from floppy or installed manually onto the hard drive? I ask because I didn't notice much of a difference in this area.

| @Sean Sk: Thank you for the good feedback! Turtle mode improvements are attempts to meet stock Amiga speed with the fast CPU (Blitter syncs etc). i.e. fix the badly coded games. The way how you enable turtle (WHDLoad, Early-Startup) does not matter. @David Wright: Depends of the RC feedback, especially if something is broken which was working with G2.11.

I like it. Just curious, is it possible to disable the melody and keep the boot silent?

I know this is probably not the solution you were looking for, but the sound disappears when you flash Kickstart 3.1.4 into the Vampires own Kickstart ROM using VampireFlash314. Personally I was slightly disappointed it went away when I flashed mine. But no big deal for me. :D

i also would prefer a silent boot. i do like the boot pic though here's a couple of quick things i noticed with 2.12: vcontrol co outputs "rev 5851 x11 c7gk (gold2.11)" both vampiremap314 and vampireflash314 seem to overwrite the bootpic and the melody... after using either one the bootpic no longer displays Gold 2.12 x10 and the melody also disappears. i'm curious, is it necessary to include 3.1 rom in the cores? its a bit troublesome for those of us using wb/rom 3.1.4

| @Adam A: These RC test JICs are with x10 ratio, which you could call a Safe Mode. V2 FPGA is totally fully utilized and the final flasher EXE will be a normal x11. So it will be more power consuming, hopefully your old issues will not come back with it. @Stephen A: Only a flasher EXE can update the Core string info, updating with the JIC can not do it. Replacing included Vampire ROM with the 314 tools does completely replaces the current ROM, which also means the bootpic. Otherwise we expect WB314 to work under 314 ROM as before with the Gold212 core.

| Thanks for the update! Is the current 2.12 core "only" a X10? The 2.12 beta core was X13 and 2.11 a X11 - why a "downgrade" to X10?

| As explained before, x10 cores Are fail-safe and Best for beta testing. Final versions will have publici x11,x12 and x13 Can be asked for, but does not work for ali. V4 was displayed with even x14 cores

Thank you, I missed Simo's comment. Too bad, I think it would also make sense to test higher speeds in advance.Especially if you already have a revised V2. Nevertheless, it's nice to see the progress on the V2.

Hardware mouse pointer is introduced :) Which is great for FreeMINT, AROS etc.

| Hello everybody, My feedback with the core 2.12 on Vampire 500 V2+ and kick 3.1.4.No RESET with the CTRL-AmigaL-AmigaR, or big time before RESET. Mouse pointer, the HOTSPOT for mouse pointer are shifted when in vampireGFX video driver are in SoftSprite=off. Turn ON to fix it. On HDD benchmark, no difference on performance. Even with 32 bit Write. WHDGames even problem like Sean SK.

I take it this is required only for using RTG? Do you still need it if you're using the Amiga chipset (ie: using Vamp as a CPU card only)?
