I tried the EXE flasher, latest version posted on my A600 V2.

flashromkickV600_7123_11x_c6gk

I had 2.10 x11 on it at the time running perfectly.

Once I flashed, it would make a sound on power up, screen turned blue then black, then lock up.  After several reboots/power cycles, I tried the early startup and it came up. Tried a few more times, holding down mouse buttons, etc and finally managed to boot up to WB a few times.  But 90% of the it would always lock up.

I am not using the DIGITAL-VIDEO video  output right now, just using built in RGB port.  Not sure if there is now a menu on the screen or what to prevent the automatic booting?  Anyway I reverted back to 2.11 x11 and everything is fine again.

Any idea what happened here?  I am reluctant to try again at this point.

Im made a quick test yesterday - but with this command Shapeshifter gets stuck while booting.  When I have time I'll post my Startup Sequence - I use an old CoffeinOS installation and there are commands I can't interpret. Maybe this is the reason.

Probably your MAC OS installation didn't like it. Here's yet another debug prg to test: EXTERNAL LINK

Hello Simo,
I use this tool now by default for shapeshifter.(V600&V1200) Are there other applications where it makes sense to use ForceATTN?

It's a debug tool. Yes, if it fixes the FPU issue.

I start ForceATTN by default for Shapeshifter because it makes Wolfenstein run flawlessly, but to be honest I've no clue what the tool does and due to that I do not know which other application can benefit from it. ;)

It hides FPU presence from any program which cares about FPU flags and they which will fallback to use Math Libs instead using directly the FPU.

Thanks for clarification - so I will test it with some demos.

Well. As I promised I have tried one more time on final core version but still the same. I have updated the core, then install new SAGA drivers and - no screen on RTG modes. Only Vampire splash on start. Reinstalled Picasso96 to some older version and picture has back but all was yellow.... Just like some yellow filter on all RTG modes.
Anyone have some ideas?

Hello.

No, it's not a cable. Have checked on two cables. On 2.11 Core all is fine. Problem is only on 2.12.

I‘d also like to know whether the idea has been considered to map the V1200 IDE connector as A4000 IDE controller. This is probably the easiest way to retain the functionality of both IDE controllers and the PCMCIA.

For Vampire 1200 does this new Gold 2.12 only support the Motherboard IDE? I currently use the Vampire 1200 IDE and don't care about PCMCIA. I think this is the case but want to confirm. Could not see it in the release note. Also I assume the motherboard IDE is going to be a lot slower than the V1200 IDE?

By the way as being new to V500 and now V1200 great job to the entire team for a great product line.

I use only the motherboard IDE so I can't say if the V1200 IDE is also supported - no comments about that in the changelogs.

To my understanding you can use both IDEs but not PCMCIA.
There is experimental core where you can use, I believe, PCMCIA and A1200 IDE only.

I believe eventually Igor will resolve the issue, and peace will reign. So temporary trouble.

Its all mater do you use PCMCIA expansion on A1200 or not.

On A600, there is no such trouble.

Can someone confirm this? Does the Vampire IDE still work on Core 7389, but no PCMCIA ??

With official core release for me only the IDE port on A1200 mainboard and PCMCIA works.

I've now updated my V1200 to Gold2.12 and its working very well. V1200 IDE does not work but motherboard IDE is fine as is the PCMCIA, and ethernet via the ENC28J60 module. Internet and network access to my PCs is fast. I'm running Coffin R55.

Game wise tested

- Quake 1 and 2 (really wish Mouselook worked on Quake 1! +MLook does not work). Both run faster in RTG than on my V500. Impressive.

- Tornado AGA works fine although not as fast as I'd hoped but need to play around with WHDLOAD settings.

- TFX (latest build that was bug free on my 68030 50Mhz card) has some graphics corruptions using the 68000 executable. Need to try the FPU and 68040 version.

- more to be tested

Overall really impressed. Compliments to the team.
