Where Do I Donate?

As the topic says.. how do I donate to this project? I can't wait until I hear the next step towards the A1200! (And kinda hope that you guys will make an BPPC compatible solution, otherwise I'll get myself another motherboard and build another A1200 system) don't know why but the A1200 is just the right Amiga for me :-) been upgrading my setup for a very long time now and never even heard of this project and the succes you have made! I have an kinda high end amiga as it is, but I wouldn't hesitate 1 second to add the extra 68k speed from your apollo-core, also, (even if the A1200 version will get to market someday) do you plan on maybe different versions? Like without s-aga and with other expansions instead? maybe sata/usb/ethernet or additional clockport?

First off, you don't donate.  When the board is out you buy it.

Second off, the only other expansion option I've heard Gunnar mention for the A1200 board is that it MIGHT get an upgradable FPGA daughterboard for more flexibility and speed in the future.

Third off, without SAGA, the graphics will be stuck on AGA's screenmodes because the high definition port is not a scan doubler.

Fourth off, who'd write the drivers for the external chips you mentioned?  It'd be just a bunch of stuff that would cause headaches for the developers.

Fifth off, what software for WarpOS or PowerUp do you need compatibility with?  If you want a cheap PPC solution, get a SAM 4x0 or something similar.  On AmigaOS 4.x and MorphOS, you'd need a graphics card to get maximum performance anyway, not to mention that the Apollo core would sit idle and lifeless under these OS solutions.  They are PPC only but for some boot code.  In my opinion, you'd be better off running the PPC code under software emulation on the Apollo core because RISC processors' instruction sets are easier to parse than 68k's CISC.

Hi Patrik,

Thanks for the offer to donate.
This idea is new to us. :-)

Regarding the BPPC, I have to admit that I do not understand how you mean this. Maybe you can explain.

I meant that it could Co-exist with an BPPC already fitted in an A1200 :-) so you get the 68k boost from apollo-core along with the already existing ppc in the amiga.. but when thinking of it, it might be impossible as there is no option on the ppc board to disable 68k cpu as I'm aware of, I really think you should open up donation option, don't see anything wrong with that, I'd hate to see this failing due to lack of funds, let's keep whats possible available on the market for amigians out there! :-D

Hi, I think that we are organized good with strict plan we follow. For now situation is not about the money it is more about patience to get this done. Often I see people excited about this project but too impatient to see final result in their hands. Everyone is forgetting one thing that we are small team comparing the others. For now I don't see how money can speed things up. Later maybe but then we will need proper investments. I had on my site donation button but that donations went directly to me and not to the rest of the team. Year ago I removed it. Since I worked with hardware part of this and at the time I didn't know what parts to use I needed to test them a lot and some leave behind, for those things I needed donations. From my point of view if there were no donations in hardware parts or money I wouldn't be able to start designing card at all.

This does not work.
The connectors is the same - you can plug one or the other.
To be honest I see not much point for the BPPC - as the Apollo will in many cases outrun the PPC.
