As long as it is cheaper than buying these EXTERNAL LINK and melting them down i'll be happy
I hope that is a joke ? :D

Contact any chines industrial with the connector design and ask to produce it by expanding an existing edge slot connector. It will do it for 10000 units at will not cost much that 5000$.

Expecting that you will ask to trash 9000 of them to save huge shipping and VAT, each connectors will cost around 5$... No more.

By the way, I don't understand why the A1200 accelerator require to be more powerfull than A500/A600 versions. By doing that, you will just increase the board price (200$ if the limit to not reach) and create softwares with a gap that will made current peoples buying vampire boards to be not able to run future applications. Is really what you want, sharing again the users with a bid of power?

AmigaOS 68k users are already divided. Some use stosk 020 14 MHz, some 030s, some 060s (and refuse getting the Vampire), some use crazy fast JIT-enabled UAE, running NetSurf and MUI 5... Now A500 users will get something better than A600 users, half year ago only the A600 users could use the Vampire. Panta Rhei...

Only the standalone can unify "all things AMIGA".

P.S. Could the Apollo Core Team please give that item an official name? I like Succubus.

Or 'Marceline' board :)
You know... the vampire queen :)
And succubus could be the name for the board bus :D
-"What kind of bus does it run?"
-"The succu-bus."
:D

Current production runs are for V500+ and V600.  All others are in the design and development stage.  The A1200 version should be ready for production some time next year.

2017 is going to be great! Well, maybe not for Americans.

We (Americans) were screwed either way :).

But the Vampire A500/A1200 will help make a lot of my cares go away :).  I need to find a way to upgrade my a500 to 2mb of chip ram...  (or just wait another year for the a1200 version of vampire).

Few days ago I have upgrade my A500 (rev8a, a500+ mainboard) to 2MB. It's easy.

I have also upgraded my A500+ to 2MB chip and it is very easy to do. Simply install a 1MB card in the trapdoor port. Done deal. :)
While the 1MB cards are not particularly common, they are not too hard to find. Kipper2k also sells these for a good price.

The 500+ can also be upgraded by finding extra memory chips, piggybacking them on the existing chips and doing a small mod.

With A500 rev. 6 you need either a MegAChip or similar or find a A3000 Agnus (very hard to find) and do a mod. Much easier and cheaper to just get an A500+ if you want 2MB chip.
