Stephen on Vamps:

- A500 + Vamp - you are already there, you can put even a Zorro card

- A500+ and megachip is advised + Vamp

- Standalone would need adapters but would do everything. Great little Amiga sys it will be. You need adapters or he will make a small board and a backplate for a standalone ABSOLUTELY.

- He things VAMP STANDALONE is a great option, even Pi could come together nicely. Pi has browser, Linux, office. Vamp would do Amiga jobs.Massive potential there.

- Schemes will be released if KS succeeds so everyone is called to make mods

- He cannot supply OS with Vamp for the known reasons.

That is all so far Vamp mentioned.

- Vamp backplate has DIGITAL-VIDEO and LAN. There is a several ways to do it. User port on the back you can do your own version, 3D print it and do it.

  - For standalone PC version of Checkmate is advised because it has standard design backplate.

  - He doesnt have a V4 Standalone and make adopters (give him one!)

  - We might be able to use the standard PC backplate.

  - Keyboard USB Standalone: Buy Cherry keboard and Loriano can "fix it". Or use Cherry kb with no fix.

  - AROS 68k is not finetuned. Its WIP.

  - We DONT REACH the goal there will be nothing (70k USD to go?)

First 30% came fast, likely it will take some time to get the rest.

Usually many kickstarters get a lot of backing in the first couple of days, then there is a slow period and then a few days before it ends you see a lot of additional supporters (or people increase their backing) coming on board as people try to get it across the finish line if they can see that it is only missing a little extra boost.

Im on the fence, altho Im leaning towards putting my V600 into it.

For the standalone Vampire, I think I might go with the case the Apollo team seems to go with.

But Im pretty sure Ill end up with a Checkmate before the end of the Kickstarter... :)

Altho, I have a old A1200, which addons, which is a bit bastarized. Maybe thats a better candidate for it...

Backer number 45 here. I had started buying bits to do my own tower conversion for my V600, dug out an old tower I kept years ago that would of fit it quite well. Brought a USB keyboard adapters and stuff, then Stephen announced this. Saves me alot of work and will give a more professional look to a self made big box mod.

Hope it gets funded!

As usual with KS, contribs in the end will rock the boat (higher production volume, additional feats. etc.)

Its still on "high tide" with almost 50% in first few days

    A little campaign support video

At the same time, its indicative to note there is no buzz about it on AW.net, A.org and Amigans.net. There is time to catch up!

Media coverage is quite poor for the effort given. I am mentioning this because we can expect more with v4 launch, but not much much more.

Campaign is abait slowing down in funding, and its "do or die" thing. Its 187 backers - a 10 backers increase in last four days only. This tempo we are dead and dudo. If campaign succeeds, molds will be done and later production possible.

I know 200 bucks for a case. But Amiga desktop "big box" case. Custom case, well design to suit expanded classics or modern small gaming or retro sys. Or a Standalone. Your pick. Buy it as a present to someone :-)

I see no news or discussion on AW.net or Morphzone, please spread the word anywhere you can.

  Amiga external Keyboard case fun
Well we are having a lot of fun with this, making from sheet metal is not easy but saves the fortune that injection moulding would cost. However, it is looking like three parts instead of two and welding the base together.

  More information soon.

  FOR CLASSIC LOVERS

A1200  can fit there beside A500 and A600. And all expansion cards can fit.Be it Vampire or Blizz PPC

Unfortunately the KickStarter has slowed down to a crawl.  I wish Stephen all the luck the in the world, but it looks like everyone who knew about the project has backed it already.  He did mention the ramp up in backers that Kickstarter has towards the end of the campaign, but I didn't see if he got that information from Kickstarter.

Can the owner of the project back their own project if it looks like it isn't going to make it?  I'm 100% sure he'd make the money up in time.

Yes, but I would love to see more individuals and companies doing it. Loriano did that to save a KS.

I dont believe everybody is there. Coverage on Amiga websites has been mostly non existant (which is sad since it is both Amiga inspired and Classic/NG usable) and ARS.Tehnica and many retro websites did not push it either.

There is a week to spread the word (and save some money?) and last one to chip in. Maybe those who have 1 could buy 1 more to a girl, best dude since even PC/Pi can fit?
