The emulator is in the fake power brick (which actually is a very clever way to package this .. unique even) .. and by the looks , it seems to be a Raspberry Pi .. or at least that was the object they used for their mockups.

I would love to see the both teams reach out to each other and see whether or not this brick can be made to fit a standalone vampire. If the thing is constructed in two parts like in the renders, they can come up with 2 variants of the bottom half, one for their original planned Rasp Pi - like emulation and another variant to fit the Vampire standalone.

Yeah noticed that the guts of the computer is in the brick. I really like that idea. Yeah, hope the Vampire standalone will go in there one day. :D

It says explicitly in the website that this new amiga x:  This product is in no way endorsed by Cloanto or Amiga, Inc., the copyright holders of Amiga IPs. The name and logos are used to illustrate a potential fan based concept.

The "Tank" mouse with a scroll wheel between the buttons is very nice.

If that was ever put into production i would imagine it would sell out immediately.

I see much discussion on Amiga forums have caused a Guru Meditation
Now the project is shred back to frontend

  "Guru Meditation Alert #60171009, 10256184

Thank you all for the massive support and interest you have showed in this project. We would like to inform you that we have momentarily removed content presenting the hardware side of the project. As we do not hold any licenses to use the Amiga name or mark we do not wish to create any confusion or use it in what may be seen as marketing of an actual product. We will be working hard to get the licenses we need in order to realize the full potential of the project but until then we will only focus on the emulator frontend. Our plan is to have a working demo of the frontend at Retrospillmessen in Norway May 12 - 13.

PS! To avoid any speculation. This change has nothing to do with any notices from copyright holders. This is on our own initiative to respect the brand."

The Tank Mouse.

The Keyboard.

The PowerBrick.

Were an Internet Ilussion :-) Only WayBack Machine can prove it noW!

Well a website now only about an emulator frontend has suddenly become a lot less interesting. Meh nothing spectacular.

Sadly, the frontend only scenario makes a website/product name of "new Amiga" even more absurd.

Nice frontends are nice ... frontends. Amiga Forever has nice one, its just not "picture gallery". Such thing looks like it could be done in Hoolywood.

How about mITX form factor-adapterboard with breakouts to a normalized ATX backplane and SFX/ATX power adapter?
That way the buyer of a Vampire V4+ Standalone will be able to choose enclosure from size of wallet and the team doesn't have to waste time and money on special designs or collaboration with others.

My opinion is that at this moment the best ongoing solution to accomodate a v4 (keeping amiga look in consideration) is philiph's a500 case indiegogo. All vampire "early bird" are gone now. But the goal has to be reached to become reality. So pledge, people!

I agree this would be an amazing enclosure for the Vampire V4 standalone.  Please make it happen, Amiga branding or not!

I believe our best hope of a nice case will come from Stephen Jones.

That one needs to pass kickstarter campaign, A500 need to pass Indiegogo, if we don't pledge, we will be without any case.

I see there is a new offer for vampire special edition a500 cases (vampire late bird) on indiegogo.

From my point of view: to house my Amiga hardware I backed two previous campaigns: the A1200 case and the keycaps. I still don't have keycaps for my A1200 case. I still don't have a Vampire to put inside (neither standalone, nor for my A1200). I still don't have FPGA Arcade to put inside. I'm only using a 030 equipped A1200, hoping to replace it with something more modern and much faster (MiSTer is not really faster) one day.

I don't really need any more 'all-in-one' cases... frankly, I don't even have a space for them on my desk.

Looking how the campaign goes comparing to previous - I'm not the only one thinking this way.

------

The keyboard from this New Amiga project looked interesting - using KMS, I could probably share it among several solutions (Vampire, FPGA Arcade, MiSTer, *UAE, and who knows what else). But I need the keyboard. One more game-launching emulator frontend... well, for me totally useless, currently iGame is my frontend, with TinyLauncher and X-bEnCH being possible alternatives.
